Can not register with the name "Kagaya" for new character in game.

It seems that no matter what last name I use I can not create a new character with the first name "Kagaya", I get an error 1003 character name cannot be used. I spent an hour on long distance with tech support who see no reason why I can not use that name and was told to contact a GM for help. I contacted a GM who passed the buck to the Bug report. After digging in loadstone an trying anything I can to get a first name of Kagaya I believe it is due to very bad name filtering in the registration process. I have noticed that you can register "Kaga" but not "Kagay" and doing a search for "gay" pulls up no names with that 3 letter sequence. I believe the name is being blocked for having "gay" in it. While I can understand the need to filter out potently offensive name there is no reason for this name to be blocked or other harmless names. I have seen much much more offensive names then "Kagaya" (which is not even offensive!). I am begging you improve your algorithm and let me register with my name.

Just out of curiousity, since your characters last name is "Hime"... Is "Kagaya" supposed to be a modification of "Kaguya"? (as in Kaguya Hime)

No, it is not a modification of any other names it is just "Kagaya". I presume your thinking of the old Japanese story though?

Well yes... With only one letter different, and your current character having last name Hime, it's not hard to make that guess...

It might be something they can fix. All of 1.0 my friend couldn't use his preferred name because it had the letters "GM" in it, with GM being a prohibited name for obvious reasons. Apparently it didn't even matter if it was in the same word, so not only would something like "magma" be unusable, "Bog Man" was potentially unusable. Turned out it was a bug and he can use his name now. Maybe it is something similar.

True as that may be, two often used letters next to each other are definitely a bug and can be fixed by simply allowing them.

The word "gay" however cannot be allowed quite so easily by denying it to be used unless it has something before it, after it or both. Since there's a lot of bad words that can come before it or follow that will make it just as bad.

That said, personally, they should allow it regardless and people should just report them over it, having a GM inflict maximum damage.
