    Goldsmith disappeared

I turned in a quest for my level 12 Goldsmith, but I was on a different profession. My goldsmith got the credit for the quest, but then it disappeared from my Gear Set List and was replaced by a second level 8 Armorer.

I submitted a bug report and noted for the first time that no where can I expect a customer service response - also there is no phone number for customer service. I guess I'm spoiled by the customer service provided by Sony. I've played Final Fantasy for years and was excited about the online version. I only recently started playing the game.

While the game seems good and challenging, I am disappointed to find many times that I must speak Japanese to get some information and customer service seems hard to find.

I would really like to use my Goldsmith - will I ever see it again?? Will someone let me know?? I still have to decide if I want to continue to play this game. The game seems like a 10 and support so far - not very good

Just because it disappeared from the gear set list does not mean it is gone. Check your armory and see if you have a goldsmith weapon..... equip it. It will change your character back to Goldsmith at whatever level you had it at.... then simply save your gear set as goldsmith again.

Just fill in a form ingame for a technical problem and a tech support will contact you ingame as soon as they can.

This is a bug, you still have your gsm, but sometimes while changing equipment slots in a saved gear set, it will change a previously saved gear set instead so for example (I have tons of crafts so this happens to me a lot):
I am on my blacksmith I'm leveling up, I go to change the tool for it, or any piece, a belt. Instead of changing it in my bsm saved set it starts changing my first saved set Scholar into bsm. You have to watch out before you save your gear set now, at least for the duration of this bug (before it gets fixed). Make sure when you go to save it is in the class you want to save it to, instead of just the first gear set you ever saved.

    Thanks

Thanks - your suggestion worked - placed hammer on one of the Armorers and reassigned gear - poof - Goldsmith at proper level - not sure what form you are alluding to - all of the forms under Support Desk->Contact Us - says They are unable to provide individual responses - is there another form??

    Thanks

not so much a bug, maybe more the way it is designed to work.

They are more like macros for calling /equip scripts (think old FFXI macros and the third party tool that extended them with text files).

They aren't bound to a specific job, so it doesn't auto update which set was loaded when you change jobs by changing weapon. It remembers the last script you called from the menu. If you just quick-save it, it's going to continually overwrite the last script you used. But, if you enter the list and call the sub-command menu on a particular script (Square on PS2/PS3 default controller profile, right-click with mouse), you can rename it, change it's prefix number, etc... and update it with your current equipment. When you do that, then it moves to that slot if it was somewhere else. Once that funky E icon is on the proper script, then you can do the quick-save all you want while on that job.

May be best if you save one main set for each job you use and do your job changes from the list instead of just swapping the weapon if the mismatched saves are happening a lot.
