PlayStation Network Sub Account to Master Account?

Don't know if i should ask this on the FFXIV forums or the PlayStation forums but,

My 18th birthday is coming up and as you may know, you can't change your existing sub account to a master account even after you've turned 18. You have to create a new account instead. So will i need my sub account just to play FFXIV with my existing character?
Or, can customer support unlink my PSN sub account from my Square Enix account so i can link my new PSN account once i create it?

Hmm. As far as I know (You'll need to contact Square-Enix direct for confirmation) you can link any number of PSN accounts to a single Square-Enix account, but only one Square-Enix account to any one PSN account.

This means that other than needing a new key to register your new PSN account to your Square-Enix account, you should be able to use your character just fine.

The main issue you'll have is the fact that as far as I know, you'll need to buy a new registration key to do so as you've already used the one you had to register your old PSN sub-account. Your old account will remain forever linked to your Square-Enix account and the registration key is non-transferable.
