Is there ANY way to change my characters name?

Create a character on another server with the name. Pay for a transfer to that server, change name at that time. Pay to transfer back.

As for as I know you can't change your character's name.

I don't believe there's any simple or straightforward way. (Nor any way intended for that purpose by SE.) There's a really cumbersome and rather expensive workaround that I heard some people came up with that takes advantage of a rule regarding character transfers.

When a character transfers onto a new server and that server already has another character with the exact same name, the character transferring has to have a name change. This seems to be the only situation for which SE has provided a name change feature, so to take advantage of it you need to transfer servers. The pattern goes like:

1) Create a new character on a different server with the exact same name as your regular character's current name.
2) Transfer your regular character onto that server (costs $18), which trigger's the rename feature, so you can select the new name you want.
3) Wait a month (because you cannot immediately transfer a character who has just been transferred).
4) Transfer back to your regular server (costs another $18).

(If you aren't picky about the community on your current server, you could skip steps 3 and 4 and just switch to playing on the new server, but if you're in an FC and have friends you want to continue with, then you'll want to move back.)

So, unless the name change is worth a month and $36, or worth being on a different server and $18, it's not a very good solution. I just don't know of any better one.

I would add that if you're going to spend $36 for a name change, make sure the name is available on your server before you transfer back...

FC member was asking, said that it's a 4+ day wait to get the transfer back.
