sorry, but just because you need to git gud doesn't mean a feature should be removed that is a key instrument to a successful party. Before vote kick I can't tell you how many dungeons were tarnished because some one decides to go afk. You complain about having to wait to join a group, but what about the other people? They have to wait as well, and all of a sudden now they have to have their experience ruined because you want to go afk for 20 minutes, or you want to prohibit the progression by not fulfilling your duty.

While the vote to kick feature can be abused, I shouldn't have to be forced to stick with, say, a tank that has no environmental awareness, can't hold emnity, dies and blames it on the rest of the party while calling them every name in the book. And, yes, I AM speaking from personal experience on that one. I'd rather have the feature be available than not have the feature and either endure trolling, greifing, harassment or eat an abandonment penalty. Especially since I'm a damage-dealer, I don't want to wait nearly 2 hours (or more!), first for the penalty to expire and second for the DF to pop again.

If someone is being verbally (textually?) abusive and is harassing you, or you are observing abusive and harassing behavior in DF, report the offender.

There is no need to be negative about the OPs friend. Some people are sensitive, for all anyone knows she has suffered bullying or some kind of abuse IRL and easily gets triggered by bullying against her online.

That said, the circumstances of the vote kick is unclear, and she possible could have deserved it.

sorry about how you feel OP. But on the defense of the Party Finder, i think its okay, it could be better IMO. I just wish the player being kicked are notified what reason they were being kicked for ( this way they can know what is wrong with them ). i just did AK last night on my alt, and my alt is already i85 WHM ( i just farm myth because why not, its an alt ). and i was kicked. the tank was new i50 geared, no darklight what so ever, one dps had no relic but 1 piece of darklight, and other dps had relic and a piece of darklight. after failing wall 5 times, remind you nobody is giving any suggestive feedback as to what can the party do to improve but me ( reason why we fail : tank cant hold hate on bee from dps or whm, dps is not good enough even with me dpsing left the wall 50% hp with bees pop, dps failing to dodge poison floor and getting kicked off the map ). after the 5th death, they just stood a bit, and i was back in the normal server and had a message "you are dismissed from the instance" and thats it. i was like, "oh well i got kicked, least i dont have to waste another 40 minutes of that failing dungeon, que again". Tank did say "before we start, this is my first time tanking this dungeon", and i replied "fine with me" ( as if they were gonna think i gonna rage quit after seeing their gears / dps, i like normal runs better anyway). on the side note, i dont think the tank really liked i "holy"ed alot because he did say his having a hard time holding hate.

in short, vote kick is fine the way it is, could use some improvement like the notification why you were kicked, report if you feel if you were "falsely kicked out", and lastly dont let getting kicked out bother you too much, the community in the server itself is much better than DF ( because of idea being in the same server, reputation applies, unlike DF which is across servers which leads to just DONT GIVE A DAMN )

there is a certain etiquette you should adhere to whenever you use matchmaking tool in an mmo, and i'll list a few of the most essential ones here.

don't speak in party chat unless it is absolutely necessary.

While I agree with your post overall, this bit leaves me a bit sad. I like to chat with my DF groups. Mute runs are what makes me feel awkward.

Sorry but if she really reacted that way on just a kick, she needs help. Nothing about people being negative, its a fact.
This is coming from someone who got bullied for 3years as well, sometimes you need to get over it and go on with your life, otherwise seek help to do so. Can you imagine that kind of person working? The second people say something bad she triggers and then what?

Only time I ever party kicked someone was because we were in CT doing Bone Dragon, and we had a Paladin that was not following what he had to do and kept pull Skeletons to the same Pad where other skeles layed dead.. this happen twiced with each one endiong in wipes to the allianace.. We ended up Vote dismissing him on terms of harrassment as he being a troll.
