I remember what life was like before the Vote-Kick feature. People come in, and immediately auto-run into a wall, or another person sits down at the start and says "ok you guys can go i'll wait here" or people who just don't even care about even trying to the boss. They die in first few seconds to them it's "WhatEVAH!"

I think you both need help. Remember, FIRST AND FOREMOST! It IS just a Game.

And before you think I am being insensitive you and your friend, I Wrote the book on Video Game Addiciton. I am still Addicted to them. To me, it is NOT a Game, that is the first thing I had to overcome. Now to me, it is just a game, that I take a bit more seriously than others. But, you won't see me dry heaving or vomiting just because I got kicked from a group. I have been kicked from many parties, there is acceptable behaviour and unacceptable behaviour. If you say "brb changing diaper" I say ok and keep moving on. Unless you are the healer in which I will stand there like a statue until your return. Life happens, and stuff happens. But, if you keep going AFK without saying anything, or if you are harassing a party member. I can give you an example which I will!

I was playing with a friend of mine, she LOVES RP, but thats beside the point. We were in this instance and this guy was hitting on her. She told him to stop, he didn't, so I initiated the vote-kick to have that guy on this other game go to the forums similar to the fashion you did. Until I posted the screenshots. Was he ever angry after that.

Honestly, All I can recommend, and yes take my advice and go do it. Get Professional Help. If you are affected that much by a single vote-kick, then holy crap! You have more Issues than I do. And I am cracked.

I feel like you aren't telling us the whole story. Based on what you said, your friend has some emotional problems that go beyond the game. I wouldn't be surprised if she got kicked because someone in the party said something that "offended" her, and she went off on them until they kicked her for harassment (and yes, that would qualify as harassment).

In my own experience, not once have I ever seen a person kicked for anything other than a valid reason (i.e. offline for several minutes). That's not to say it doesn't happen, but there's no way you can convince me it's the "blight" you claim it is.

there is a certain etiquette you should adhere to whenever you use matchmaking tool in an mmo, and i'll list a few of the most essential ones here.

don't queue if you don't feel like you have enough time to see your groups through to the end.
try not to take AFKs unless you really need to, and even then try to make them brief.
don't speak in party chat unless it is absolutely necessary.
always try to do your best.

and by "do your best" i mean "read the tooltips of your abilities and a guide on how to play your class and use your abilities according to a thought process that has been modified by this information and then make it a goal to play your class well regardless of the groups you choose to play with"

If you follow these rules, your vote kick removals from groups will stop entirely or at least become heavily staggered.

While I agree with your post overall, this bit leaves me a bit sad. I like to chat with my DF groups. Mute runs are what makes me feel awkward.

If you and your friend are being constantly kicked, did you take a look at yourselves as to why?

Are you role playing in parties with strangers? Do you use a lot of party macros with s.e.s? Are you terrible at the role that you're supposed to be playing? Are you kawaii-desuing all over the place? Are you whining? Are you using a lot of profanity? Are you being racist in a non funny manner?

In any case, why are you and your friend putting your egos/identity with your characters? If you were kicked, fine, brush it off and move on. They're not rejecting you on a personal level, they don't wish cancer upon you and your family and hope all the bad things in life happen to you and only you; just you didn't seem to suit their needs at this particular time. And it's not just one person, it's a minimum of three other people to kick you, more of course for CT.

You could always queue for parties/events together so even if a kick vote arises, you can deny it for each other.

Also, maybe don't play dragoon. Someone mentioned that dragoons get kicked a lot.

I agree, OP! The kick system needs some work, clearly the developers didn't think it through enough. Maybe if the options for kicking were a little more like...


- AFK
- Offline
- Harassment
- Cheating
- Terrible Player
- Under-age (The TOS states, "No one under the age of 13 may play the Game.")
- Unwanted Party Member

So we could get rid of people like you without running the risk of getting banned. God forbid, in a game with thousands of players, that three of them don't like you.

How come everytime I say AFK/brb/need a drink/bio in DF or PF..I never get kicked...I want to rant/cry on the forums about it to .

In all seriousness, I have yet to witness vote abuse against anyone. However, I'm not saying it does not happen, I just think it is not as common as the forums make it be.
