A thing about Bombast's post, Ruin 2 is not your exclusive filler move. Ruin is. Use Ruin 2 when you need to use an off GCD ability like fester or spur or something. Try and fit those in during the GCD from Bio and swiftcasting shadowflare as well. And make sure Garuda is on Obey.

Being a good SMN takes a lot of effort in learning how to play the class the best.

Raging Strikes - Virus - Bio/Bio2/Miasma (Order isn't terribly important, though it may be prudent to open up with Bio First) - Shadow Flare - Bane (If Multiple Enemies), Or Energy Drain (If you need Mana now or for future stability), or Fester (If neither of the other two options apply) - Ruin 2 - Rouse - Ruin 2 - Spur - Ruin 2.

NEVER spam ruin 2....NEVER. does the same damage as ruin and cost twice the mana, only useful when you have to move or if you need to apply a blind.

PLDs don't flash to blind stuff, they flash for the enmity. You won't get in the way of that.

And nobody seems to be mentioning using Miasma II for when you're going to use Contagion. Bonus points if you pop a Poison pot between bio/miasma II since those work with contagion as well. So Bio II > Miasma > Bio > potent poison pot > miasma II > contagion.

PLD does use flash for blind....it causes big moves to have a chance to miss.....why would you not save blinds for that?
