1) Don't care if you gear faster than me.
2) I care because it pretty much raises the price of subs in order for players to feel like they get the full benefits.
3) You're not even getting new content for paying more. Pay to rerun old content?

I could pay the sub fee 10x over every month and not even bat an eye and I know that this is pay to win crap. Paying more money to be able to do more is the definition of pay to win.
Congrats on being the most stuck up selfish Legacy ive ever seen though.
If you have so much time that you could i90 all of your jobs in much less time than the lockouts allow, just make a new character for each job. Just because you CAN have more than 1 job on any character doesn't mean you NEED to. I think its totally silly that anyone would complain out lock outs. I am a pretty casual player (20 hours of playtime on my my intense playing weeks, more often around 10-12) and I have two characters, one has i88mnk, i86pld, i80war, i72sch, and the other has i89 BLM, and a soon-to-be i76 BRD. I'm rarely bored because I cap myth twice, do CT twice, do coil twice, do X modes twice, etc. They stay interesting because I know that I am progressing something different.
Yeah I had to level THM up to level 26 twice (once for my SCH on my main, and obviously had to go to 50 on my BLM), and I will have to level PUG and LNC again for my BRD, but I had different experiences leveling them up with different people, and it adds something for me to work towards. Also, from doing the main scenario quests, you make like 500k gil if you don't spend on anything as you level up. 500k and a new level 50 in about 6 days is pretty achievable with duty roulette decreasing queue times. I'm contemplating starting a 3rd character just to farm the gil!
TL;DR: Make more characters to circumvent lockouts
While I understand the frustration of enjoying raiding at level cap more than other aspects of the game and being limited to one run (or piece of gear in the case of CT) per week, paying to get gear faster than people who are unable or unwilling to shell out more money on top of their sub fee is a very, very bad idea. In most MMO's, you have been unable to level multiple jobs (with the exception of crafting/gathering) on one character, so those weekly lockouts didn't seem so noticeable. You'd just make an alt (or 10, whatever floats your boat) and raid with however many you were able to in the same week. Granted, you could level alts in this game, but considering the cross-class requirements (unless you don't care about those skills, in which case I can't imagine you caring about the lockouts anyway), it could end up being a huge chore to get your alts raid-ready. If the problem really is that you just want to raid more rather than the desire to gear out one job in less time, perhaps coding that would allow lockouts on a per-job basis would be better received than paying for lockouts to be removed. True, it could allow for you to greed roll on items for your other jobs, but it certainly wouldn't guarantee faster gearing of one job. Mind you, I don't see that happening, but it would be nice for those who prefer raiding during the time they play.
I don't see it happening. The purpose to lockouts was to control the speed at which players get the higher ilvl gear. There shouldn't be an exception or any kind of advantage by paying more. When they remove the lockout, it will be removed for everyone.
Pretty sure when they commented on how they'd rather let the game die than go f2p, they mentioned they also didn't want to make a subscription based on paying more giving you an upper hand. I'll try to see if I can find any source for this.

All i see is someone that wants to play an F2P/P2W model. FYI, what your suggesting DOES in fact break many things in this game. This causes alot of new issues to arise, like people will start wanting higher ilvl players for pugs and not allowing people with lower ilvls in their group.
If you want to play the game more than 8 hours a week, u can. If you already finished ur weekly dungeons, go farm and gather materials. Go play the auction house and make money, go achievement farming, etc.
The only FAIR thing that square can do, is lift lockouts on dungeons without making anyone pay.
Good job, insulting everyone though. I'm sure that's a proper way to introduce an idea and win people over to your philosophy >_>
And people care cause its p2w, have you not been reading everyones posts here???
I'll be back in a few hours, i'm going out.
LOL. I said that because that is how others are acting to what I had to say. Even if I wanted to be max out on gear in a week on all job, What advantage is that over someone who wasn't able to pay? There isn't an advantage, I'm stuck until the next patch. Meaning there is plenty of time for people to obtain the same gear.
I Have an ALT account and I don't like playing ALTs (ilvl88 DRG). I don't want to do Raiding just to get the gear that's a bonus, I like it because its content and fun to do. I've gone weeks without a drop in coils, But I still go because I find it fun. TBH I would take Crystal Tower lockout on CoB, At least then I could run it with whoever and whenever I wanted to.
there will be less party finder groups and longer wait times for DF 2-3 months after a patch. it probably already is that way but this will make it worse.
i don't know why there need to be a better idea.
Better idea: Remove lockouts.
People are going to demand higher ilvls in PUGs no matter what, Look what happened after people started to get Relic+1 and wait until 2.2 when people will be demanding ilvl90 only.
Sorry but Gil is shit in this game, So I could care less about making money. THEY WILL NEVER LIFT LOCKOUTS ON NEW CONTENT WHEN ITS ADDED. Why? Because SE just wants more and more $$$$$$$$$$$ from us. They seem to think that adding in lockouts will prevent people from finishing all content and unsubbing. So with lockouts people will continue to pay for the game. And if anyone says Lockouts don't have anything to do with SE making money then you're full of shit.
There's no way to remove the lockouts on new content and keep everyone happy. Slap a CT lockout on new CoB 1 piece per turn per week and then people will cry that groups are selling gear.
That's why I said what I said. People are always going to get butt hurt cause someone can play more than them.
That's the point. But as I said above it won't happen on new content because its all about SE making money.
Maybe they should for one major patch remove lockouts on everything and see what happens.
