How do people calling themselves casual feel about the difficulty level?

I play most night, and I am casual. One class to 50, some other classes to 20s,30s. Done a little trades killing, some gathering. I also have a couple of alts to play other races just for fun. I know right? Playing for fun..?! Crazy talk...

Not done any hard modes or relic quest. My gear is still below i60. But for me I really don't care how long it takes. I have played MMOs for over 14 years, and the one thing I have learned is that rushing leads to disappointment. I enjoy the leveling experience,wondering around in the world, and really never want it to end. I am casual and I play for fun, which for me, is the ultimate win.

the game itself, is not that difficult. most of the encounters are entirely scripted and just need to be memorized. people make it alot hard than it needs to be

This game is intented for casual, the majority of the guys who can't reach the cap each week, and fail on everything. Myself i'm an hardcore gamer, everyone else who can cap, and who can do bahamuth a little in like 2 day, are an hardcore gamer, this week i have play 3 hours, done my cap, done bahamuth, i'm hardcore, i don't think so. I take a break till the update 2.2 come, i will play titanfall and some awesome game like infamous or diablo III ROS. If the update will still be a monday game for me, then i give up, i have lose, this game is not intented for me, let say the truth, and i will leave. Sometime you must stop wait the game change for you, you must only move somewhere else. And yes i like this game, but i guess he don't like me like i :/

Oh i will say what i have done in game like everyone here.

So i have my main a PLD full 90 alagan so my warrior indeed.
My dragoon ilvl 90 too !
My BLM ilvl 86 (mix allagan with ct)
My monk ilvl 84
My SCH who are ilvl 76

Well not that bad, i play till the release on moogle server, i have done so much primal extrem, i done bahamuth everytime, now if you think all of this is too much, i will tell you, when 2.2 is out, you can stuff all class in ilvl 90 in one week. Thing i have done in 6 month ?

I ask myself if I even play the same game as the OP and some of the other posters, and I have to answer myself NO.
Sure my game of completing Pharos Sirius and Haukke Hard 1 time out of 3 cannot be the same game played by the ones who not only have defeated all primals and coils, but think that it is so easy that almost everybody has done it by now.
But strangely, whenever I queue in DF I end up with players who seem to play my same game. Go figure. :P

I mean maybe you have a point there, I won't say you don't. If you were to walk around the main cities or mor dhona though, wouldn't you say that a majority are walking around with a primal ex weapon or maybe even a allagan weapon? It could be just my server Leviathan though. Maybe I just notice them. One thing I can say that I am *not* seeing as much are the Zenith weapons.

This is perceptual vigilance. Like once you start driving a certain car, you see them everywhere. Same thing here. There are still a ton of people without relic/zeniths.

I consider myself casual now, and I attribute time to being my biggest setback in completing content. I played XI like crazy, and I just don't have the time for that anymore. Only things still not done are EX primals, Ultima, and Coil. I don't have the schedule to allow me to form a static for coil, and I don't really want to wait around in a PF group with crazy standards, that attitude just doesn't fit my playstyle. That leaves DF as my option of choice, which makes completing stuff a bit more of a challenge (or impossible in the case of coil). I know I could create my own party in PF, but I would rather level an alt class, or do maps while I wait, I'm not really in any hurry.

As to the difficulty, it is about where I would expect it to be for the type of game it is. Not to hard for most, but challenging enough for many. I do wish latency wasn't as big a factor, but oh well. I plan to continue to sub, especially looking forward to DFing coil, just to check it out.

Sorry Goodberry but what is hard ? You mean doing Sirius with 4 guys with stuff job ? Everything is hard then. If you are prepare and stuff a little and use your brain and try to find all the mechanic of a fight, the game is very easy.

The first boss, you kills all the wolf very fast, the bird, kill one eggs at a time, the last boss, you can stun her, silence her. Nothing is hard. The hard thing of the game is with who you play, if you play with guys who play bad, dps bad, do bad thing, this is not the way intented to clean something.

I would much rather play with "Bad" players than with "Hardcore" players any day of the week so at last there's that.

I guess I should clarify, if you think that someone is bad because they either don't have the same level of experience with any given content or that because someone wipes multiple times on an encounter but has fun makes them bad as opposed to someone who can clear whatever in whenever period of time and acting like a game is easy because of that. Yeah no, not everyone plays on the same level or with the same mindset going in and I would rather have subpar players that can laugh it off and still have something to strive for than the alternative in that case.

For anyone that is in physic or engineering field this is (easy) basic differential equation something everyone of the field should know. So Im suppose expect any random person to know the answer base on your argument? Hardcore gamers are just people that profess in the field of gaming. If you think that you dont study, I ask you how many times did you wipe on Turn 5 when the content was new to everyone? Even for the people that claim world first also claim how much they failed until they got. Nothing is easy unless you experienced it.

Stop downing people because you "think" you are better than them. Help your fellow player or say nothing at all.

Tell me again when you have beaten T5 for the first time ? 1 month ago you were struggling for P2 there. So ok, *maybe* you downed it for 4 weeks now, but still, it took you 6 month. There will be the same step of difficulty for T6-9, prepare for an other 6 month period with a lot of things to do.

When I see people say things like this, I want them to solve this problem:

gaaah MUST.NOT.RESOLVE... Was too much trouble when I was studying equations, they were everywhere, and so damn boring with sinh(ln(x^4)) all over the place just becaus emy math teacher loved that and loved to destroy any hope in us.. (but yeah this one is easy once you know how equations work)

Been a few years since I did DE's, so I'd need to refresh my skills, but that looks like quite easy one...
