If you're after mdef I would suggest a +2 or +3 harness it should have all around better base stats.
Until 1.19 any stat has to be piled on to get real benefits, even 6str will not make a difference.
And since physical attacks are more common than magical you're going to be better off with def, except in situations were most of the damage will be magical (like Hopoxbloatbelly which mdef from bucc shirt won't even begin to touch)

If you want to go for pure damage Bucc shirt is decent, but at that range, I would forego the 3 str for def.

Its up to every player. I see no real benefit in replacing bucca shirt for this jacket. But its just my opinion.

IMO, people might be looking foward to jacket more as e-peen because right now its much rarier than shirt.

Agreed, preference and play style are going to be the deciding factor, the 2 pieces are pretty much equal.
We still see people wearing their look good walking around town gear to battle, which I really don't understand.
Oh well, they will make good looking corpses as they wonder why the party dropped them.

That's exactly the "jacket" we were talking about ^^: Like i said, i'd still stick with bucca shirt over alpine jacket because it has more eva, mdef and 2 times more HP and str than alpine...in other hand alpine has vit and dex too.

So, if you move from shirt to jacket you would be trading 24 HP + 10 mdef for 23 def + 3 vit and 3 str + 3 eva for 3 dex.

I personaly don't like this deal...but its up to people to decide. ^^ After all right now alpine also has like +5" of e-peen than shirt due rarity =P

Indeed. They're pretty rare to obtain...since special missions were added i only got 1 runestone until now. Also, it does is the best body piece for both ARC and PGL IMO so it fair enough it being expensive.

I would never may 10+ million for anything in this game, I don't care how hard is it to obtain, the +1 prices are even worse, 100 times the normal price...
Yes it is unreasonable, better equipments are coming in the game, I can survive with harrier and alpine till then.

Alpine, Buccaneer and Harrier don't make any difference at all "in game" the stats are still not working so yeah the price for such a similar equipment (I dont care if I lose 25HP, or +1 damage) is not justified.

Well, no need to be so aggressive ^^: How could i know people in Cornelia is asking 10M for shirt? ^^: Here it was like 2~3M tops last time i checked.

Also, it was a comparison regarding armors only...my comment regarding faction leves was just to say my experience regarding it too.
