I personally have 10 on Strength & 20 on Vitality. I read on the IGN FFXIV app that that is the ideal setup for your Warrior character as well as making him a Hyur Highlander for the optimal Warrior.

30 VIT. It's a no-brainer when you actually know how little the points you put into STR matter compared to VIT.

"due to the Warrior's inferior mitigation but ability to heal through damage"

    Hmmm, it's still 2.0?

    This.

STR should never even be considered for the bonus points imo, if you do want some STR then you can get more than enough through your equipment.

It's not a massive dps increase (we'll leave out the 1 - 2 percent increase to parry) but properly melded gryphonskin and tank gear can be handy for a WAR OT in endgame.

I realized exactly the same than the original poster and that's why I decided to put 2 STR 1 VIt.... So it would be 20 STr and 10 VIT, it seems...

I have to say that until level 45 my warrior didn't have any kind of trouble yet, Can even do FATE alone and take some bosses in Ishgard because auto-healing in a lot of ways.

But, of course I'm just a noob and didn't test how much the game seems to change in level 50 with the super gear and all those thingies, so... Don't really know if that setting will be okay in 'endgame'.

    Regards.

Honestly, if you keep your gear up to date and use your abilities with some degree of intelligence, you could put all your bonus points in MND and not have any real problems until maybe Titan HM. With the random nature of parties, VIT or STR isn't going to contribute to your success any more or less than lucking your way into a good/bad healer/party until pretty late in the game.

When you get into that late portion of the game, all VIT until/unless you know better. There are more "you must be this beefy" HP checks that will wreck you than there are threat/DPS checks. The mitigation you get from STR (parry and minor self-heals) isn't reliable enough to push for, threat is a non-issue unless the rest of your party massively outgears you, and your DPS just doesn't matter that much.

When you get into the very, very top end (Coil and XM primals), you can go with capping your Accuracy for the content you're doing (zero for anything other than Coil), getting as much VIT as you need to survive, then squeezing in any STR you have room for.
