I'm extremely new here and i'm loving it so far! I'm currently level 9 on Fairie and i'm wondering, with all these servers, is that a decently populated one? I have no idea where to go or what to pick

I don't really need a massively populated server, but I do like to party up and have some friends to chat with.

I've been debating on Zalera, Fairie and Siren. Also, are server transfers available?

I don't have anyone to play with currently, no friends playing this game. So i'm mainly looking for something moderately populated with a friendly atmosphere.

Oh P.S. The collector edition freebies, if I remake my character on another server, are they lost or will they appear in my mailbox again? I didn't see anything that says they are available per character and the mailbox when I went to loot them said it had 1hour left before it disapeared. So i'm a bit hesitant and worried to delete/remake again.

I personally am on leviathan and it is very friendly... But you can make friends on any one of the servers you need to start with an FC thats the easiest way... And your perks transfer with your character or if you start a new character they also get mailed to that character...

Don't join a big FC look for a smaller one they are more helpful and more family... The bigger one's are like companies what can you do for me and that's not enough we need more... When a game becomes a job the fun seems to start slipping away...

I'm on Faerie as well and I'm in a small and very friendly Free Company that has a lot of new-ish players and also really helpful lvl 50s. If you're interested you can always add me! Though I can't recruit I'll have to tell a leader :P

I play on Gilgamesh which is a very populated server where you always can find active players at any time of the day or night. I'm in a quite small FC which is very family like and helpful. We just want the fun of the game while still being successful, but without any pressure

Thanks everyone I ran into a friendly FC over here on Faerie, seems fitting for now hehe.

This game is so much fun, and so much stuff that I don't get yet, is there some sort of Wiki or website that breaks things down for a new player?

There are a few wikis out there (I'm a fan of the folks behind the Gamerescape wiki, but have no opinion on its content compared to the others). There are also several guide sites, database sites (such as xivdb), and other forums/communities (Reddit has a large FFXIV community). I don't know of much of a comprehensive guide for new players, because there's just so much to go over, and it's hard to keep up-to-date with every patch. Feel cheesy giving the default answer here, but it's true: Google is your friend. Searching for "FFXIV ARR <insert topic>" has rarely disappointed me. Just be careful to check for a date on any articles you find and/or make sure it's talking about ARR. There's still a lot of information out there from 1.0, which can be misleading if you're not aware of it.
