Just think, in the time your wasting, all your comrades and you could be half way through the next attempt - maybe even succeeding?

Actually considering how tense* you sound I'd say you ought to give it a go. We had one member that would stall coil out all the time. (He moved and no longer plays) but it certainly helped when half of the raid was on edge or annoyed. It can be a breath of fresh air. However you sound so serious - you have trouble downing coil or something? Were able to joke around and still get kills. Maybe you just need to relax - it's just a game after all. People have different ways of coping.

I can fully understand if you have somewhat close to a full LB3 or the boss is in its last few percent. But when there is 1, 2 or 3 left out of 8, 25-50%+ on the boss and there isnt even a LB1 available... just give it up and stop wasting everyone's time. You can do whatever the hell you want in your own FC run - but in a DF group, just wipe it so we can move on and progress through the dungeon.

Sometimes I tend to keep going even though its a wipe depends on the situation. Per say if it was titan and everyone died but me I would show them that the rotation isn't that hard. Plus when people give up right away - some people don't even get to see the rotation. I like to push so they get to see. Hey this landslide is coming up. If people learn from watching it's helpful.

People don't always do it out of animosity too - You have to take in account that people learn by seeing the fight. Not by - "ok guys lets wipe and pray we can understand the fight even tho we only made it X far"

Did you just say you have expectations in DF? Um that's your first mistake.

If you want to play with like minded individuals find some, make some friends you only need a few and look you can now do all the dungeons you want how you want. Excepting everyone to play your style let alone to cater to your desires is just selfish.

I have also solo healed a Tank alone and finished bosses without any DPS, I mean I guess we could have given up and let you all fail to dodge and die again .... or we could consider you wasted space and finish it on our own but I guess that is irrelevant to your rant because you should just give up the moment anyone dies or there is a hiccup.

I disagree with you therefore I am ignorant. How about lets discuss the irony of people wasting your time while you are posting and tracking / replying to these posts? I mean if your time is so precious why don't you do something valuable with it like learning a new skill and bettering your self? Oh because you are just ranting on some forums that mean nothing to anyone and the majority of the replies would show that what you perceive to be a problem only seems to be affecting and bother you but yes we are all the problem.

No. Your arrogance shows your ignorance, far more than simply disagreeing with someone.

Yes. If there is a chance of the boss being killed then by all means. If you have or are very close to a LB3, or only have a fer percent left - by all means go nuts. I will even try to encourage and support you in this attempt.

But mucking around with a boss at 50%, less than half of the team alive and NO LB3 or anything close to it - no your just wasting everyone's time. Stop thinking of only yourself and try to work with the group - not against it.

I do it to rub it in the faces of the people causing the wipes. You don't like me wasting your time? Then stop dieing and wasting mine.

Can still practice most fight mechanics even when half of party are dead.

I rarely see a recovery work even if healer LB3 is popped. Half the group dies in seconds afterwards because they've given up and weren't ready for the AoE that's about to smack them.

I have actually. I have actually see a tank somehow take down HM Ifrit. All on his own. For the last 5%. That has only ever happened once and he only had to last 10-20 seconds. LB3 quite often saves the group. If i had to guess the times it has actually worked - i would say maybe 75%. Those few times it didnt, was when the timing was off (and the post-Raise immunity was not yet implemented) and everyone got Raised right at the beginning of a massive aoe mechanic and promptly wiped a second time.

Sometimes it's hard to know the exact point that all hope is lost. I was in a group where several dead players suggested we just wipe it. The few players remaining survived until healer LB3, the whole team was back in action, and we ended up winning the fight. Long shot wins like this are exciting.

Other reasons include:

- Wanting to fight till your dying breath. We're playing heroic characters and that's typically what heroes do, after all.
- Having tunnel vision. Sometimes people don't realize how bad things really are. The tank is like "Why am I not getting healed?!" then realizes all the healers are dead and maybe have been for several minutes...
- Wanting your teammates to know you're not a quitter.
- To get more practice on a particular phase.

Etc. It's highly doubtful that anybody is just trying to waste someone else's time. At any rate, wipes typically happen about 10 seconds after it becomes hopeless anyway, so not a lot of time is being wasted. Furthermore, most groups leave instance now after 2 tries so it's not like wiping any faster will give you more tries with the same group.

As a side tangent, that makes "X-strikes" parties kind of pointless as this mentality is already the norm. Can't count the number of times I've PUG'ed Titan and had people quit after 2 tries. The funny thing is that the same people who do this complain about others wanting things "handed to them."

Moral: Enjoy the game, let others play how they want (within reason), and don't have such high expectations. If you gripe about people not being able to avoid landslide, don't expect them to jump off a cliff cause you done gone and got yourself blown up
