Thread: patch 2.9 the last patch for ps3

Honestly with the ps4 version coming out soon, a lot of players are going to be upgrading from their ps3 to ps4. In addition ps4 are becoming a lot more common now so it wouldn't surprise me if by the end of this year or early next year we will see a dramatic population drop on the ps3 servers. I am sure all ps3 players are willing to leave that lag and latency behind lol.

PC, PS3, and soon PS4 players all share the same servers... and I've not personally had any latency issues specifically because of the PS3. What do you mean no latency issues? have you never ran titan ex before on ps3? Even in crystal tower if your a melee your character runs in place for a few seconds before attacking. Those are latency issues you can dodge landslides on your screen and still get hit by it, lol.

Yep, beat it on PS3 as well. Latency isn't platform specific.

How the current patch system is based, the first decimal indicates which major patch it is and the second is the minor.
Like we already had 2.15 and if I remember correctly a 2.16
Would be weird for 2.11 to be released months after 2.16.
They've already planned how many major updates 2.x will have and it's highly likely there will be less than 10 :P

My guess is around 2.6 before we get 3.0

Well the plan they have is 3 months per Major update and 2 years per Expansion.

So we are looking at around 2.5 or 2.6 as the last 2.X Major Update before 1st expansion.

PS Yoshi-P already mentioned PS3 support will not end until 2nd expansion which is 3 years from now in the 4.X era.

A) We have no idea what patch we will be at before the expansion. As far as we know it will go 2.0 > 2.1 > 2.2 > 2.3 > 2.4 > expansion. We just have no idea when the expansion will come in relation to the .1 patches.

B) Yoshi said the would evaluate the ps3 situation AFTER the expansion pack, and that it was going to definitely support the ps3. Anything after that is up in the air. As far as we know it could be 2 expansion packs before the ps3 user base dwindles enough that they'd be willing to drop it.

C) This thread invites speculation in which there are absolutely no facts or information we can work with to come up with any realistic estimate. Any such estimate would be a complete guess.

I hate it when people make topics with titles that sound like they are declarative statements and only reveal themselves to be questions in the actual post, but it probably IS a good way to get people to click on your topic. I'm torn.
