Suggestion for new Lancer move

So me and my friend were talking about how lancer/dragoon get no proc or circumstantial moves, e.g shield swipe, haymaker, mercy stroke, misery's end.

So I thought a good move for lancer would be sudden lunge. After a successful parry you can deliver an attack with ??(whatever's balanced) potency. Additional effect terror. Duration 3 seconds.

Basically the idea was this could be used to make keen flurry more useful to lancer and the terror would give the lancer a chance when solo to move to the mobs flank for a heavy thrust or behind for an impulse drive. I opted not to use stun as the add effect cause lancer already had leg sweep and this way it wouldn't build the enemies stun resistance. 3 second duration would mean it would last long enough for your GCD to reset after using it and just enough time to use a heavy thrust or impulse drive before it wears off.

LNC/DRG aren't tanks, they're DPS. You're not supposed to be getting hit.

And you have Leg Sweep AND Spineshatter Dive for stuns...a third move like that for soloing isn't going to matter one bit

DRG does have mercy stroke available. You can cross class it.
As has been said, as dps class you are not supposed to get hit so that skills would be pretty bad.

Its a nice idea in case they add a lancer tank job though.

Yes it gets access to cross classes that do it, but we were talking natively, lancer is kind of straight forward in that respect. As for lancer not supposed to be getting hit, this move isn't meant to make you want to get hit, it's for situations where you are getting hit, e.g when solo. So that you have a chance to use your positional moves. In situations where you aren't getting hit you'll be able to get to the mobs flank and back by yourself. As for spine shatter dive and leg sweep, I said that it is designed as a move to get to the flank and rear without building stun resistance by using those moves, so you can save them for when you actually have to stun something.

So...useless skill is useless. Soloing, you have LS and SSD to stun. Mobs aren't going to live long enough to build resistance soloing anyway.

And in groups, where stun interrupts are possible...you're not going going to get hit anyway

It's not meant to be the end all be all skill for lancers, it's simply a move that would correspond with pug getting featherfoot + haymaker and gla getting bulwark + shield swipe.

And it's not useless as I've already described when it would be used, just cause a different move can fulfil a function doesn't mean having another move that can fulfil it in a different way isn't useful.

Reason I suggested it in the first place was cause I soloed LNC from 1-34 in leves thinking "wouldn't it be nice to have a skill like that".

A more viable option and one that could possibly work better would be a proccing ability based off Chaos Thrust DOT. Maybe a 5% chance each proc of damage to add an ability similar to bloodletter and river of blood combo. Just an off GCD ability with low potency. Lets just estimate a value that isn't crazy, so how about 100 potency hit?

Ain't that the truth. But if they added Multi-Hit Attacks Like Penta-thrust to the Dragoon, then I guarantee you that every person who doesn't play DRG will be raging about the fact.
