We have this already.Next Repair should be a General action with interface similar to NPC repairs with a list of all damaged gear and repair all button. You may highlight gear which you can repair (having respectful DoH class leveled) and instead of total cost in gil you get a total amount of Dark Matter consumed.
But it seems some people love it to repair in the armory chest so they can complain about the needed time.
Here is an idea compiled from many others:
1) Self repair in dungeons!
a) Right click on gear to repair IF you have the leveled class (fails in combat)
b) Repair option then triggers a check for an appropriate gear set (then verifies the gear is actually present in armory) and materials. click yes on verify screen
2) Repair others in dungeons!
a) Examine person to bring up equipped items (this requires that Examine now actually reflect damage of gear), and right click to select repair
b) as above
this will put an end to "oops, I forgot to repair, we need to leave so I can take care of that.". It will also encourage the leveling of crafting classes.
There's two problems talked about in this thread with the Repair action UI (which is the same UI for NPC Mender)
First, you have to actually go through each of those drop down menus,
which Camate caught on to, replying "At the moment we do not have any plans of adding the option to "repair all" areas of your inventory to mender NPCs."
Second, Repair action UI needs to function slightly differently than NPC Mender, because the gear you're self repairing most of the time is not the gear you're equipped with.
Since you need to switch to the correct class to repair, the player will have to search the for the gear set items regardless of what technique they use to find the item they need to repair.
Let's say you're repairing your PLD gear, which is mostly armorer, blacksmith, and goldsmith.
You could either
1) Go to the NPC Mender geared as PLD, and just simply say repair all for "equipped" that'll get you set to go for your PLD
2) Switch to your crafting classes
(a)Player could use the Repair Action for the list and then search each of those Repair Tabs for the correct item you want to repair
(b)Player also might not want to search that Repair list, and instead look at your Armory since it might display too many items with the list.
However what Limecat suggested is possible fix for this issue, this would be essentially a "Repair Gear Set"
Also another fix, sorting durability on the repair list
Let's go back to the example. I want to repair my PLD gear.
http://youtu.be/x4e6nhubDoE
- First the sword, I switch to blacksmith, click the repair button, and go to "Armoury Chest (main hand/off hand)" list to find the sword I want to repair.
I do not want to just repair everything in that list, which is usually 23+ items, because that would be a waste of Dark Matter as not everything is severely damaged.
I could either look for sword's name in the list of 23+ items to find the one I want to repair OR find the sword itself in the Armoury Chest.- Next I switch to armorer, and continue dropping down that list and finding the items I need to repair, which isn't too bad because I don't have too many items requiring armorer repairs.
- Next, goldsmith to repair the rings. I do the same thing, Repair Action, drop down list to find "Armoury Chest (Neck/Ears)" first and here goes a list of 19+ items where I need to find 2 items that I want to repair, a PLD necklace and a PLD earring.
I could somehow pick out the name from that list OR I could go to the Armoury Chest itself that sorts necklace to find it there.- Lastly, comes another large list, "Armoury Chest (Wrists/Ring)" with a 23+ items listed where I have to find the 3 items I want to repair.
I could look at the list or use the Armoury Chest, which ever one the player favors more.
Granted, that this all should occur under a minute, but the fact that it isn't streamlined is the problem. That's what designing a UI is all about, making it easier on the user to do what they want to do.

"3.Learn to listen and adapt. A complaint is worth twice a compliment." Your own words you use in training. Now here is the complaints adapt and change it. Majority of people want the repair all function or be able to repair on 1 class. Maybe a reward all DOH levelled can repair all on any DOH class.
Also bring back letting others repair your equipment.

They should send that text to SE right now.Simple question for you; who should have the most convenience; the player who sunk time into leveling crafts, or the player who didn't?
Scholar as an example);
- Switch to Alchemist.
- Hit repair.
- Select Main Hand/Off Hand.
- Repair book.
- Switch to Weaver.
- Hit repair.
- Select Head/Body/Hands.
- Repair Head/Body.
- Select Waist/Legs/Feet.
- Repair Legs.
- Switch to Leatherworker.
- Hit repair.
- Select Head/Body/Hands.
- Repair Hands.
- Select Waist/Legs/Feet.
- Repair Waist/Feet.
- Switch to Goldsmithing.
- Hit repair.
- Select Neck/Ears.
- Repair Neck/Ears.
- Select Wrists/Rings.
- Repair Wrists/Rings.
- Switch to Scholar.
- Wait for Recasts.
- Resummon Fairy.
- Reuse Aetherflow.
Is there any real reason for this? To be honest I don't know why it wasn't like this to begin with. The way it is now just makes it more cumbersome for no good reason. At the moment we do not have any plans of adding the option to "repair all" areas of your inventory to mender NPCs.
There isn't really any situation I can think of where someone would only want to repair only some of their gear.
There should only be three options at most with the gear you can select to repair: stuff you have equipped, stuff in your armoury chest, and stuff in your inventory. Separating it all by head, body, etc. is just extra pointless clicks.

If i repair, i don't look at the item names. I only look at the durability bars and repair everything that look like it is under 50%.First the sword, I switch to blacksmith, click the repair button, and go to "Armoury Chest (main hand/off hand)" list to find the sword I want to repair.
I do not want to just repair everything in that list, which is usually 23+ items, because that would be a waste of Dark Matter as not everything is severely damaged.
I could either look for sword's name in the list of 23+ items to find the one I want to repair OR find the sword itself in the Armoury Chest.
This is why I say a function to sort the list by durability is all what it is missing. And maybe a "all gear" list with the sort function.

Just doesn't work like that. They recoded the game engine. Its not as simple as copy/pasting it in from 1.0 :/.
First they have to recode it into 2.0. then check *all* the coding to make sure it works properly and causes no outstanding issue. It, unfortunately, is not a quick simple fix.
It could possibly happen and some time in the future, just not in the *near* future that covers what they are already set to work on. Imo, as someone who's actually coded things and tried to figure out what got broke by the changes made its never quick and easy![]()
