Game disconnects cause entire connection to disable.

Internet disconnects happen, but this is different.

When ever I get disconnected from ff14, and ONLY from ff14, my computers entire connection to the internet goes down.

Router still works, Modem is still connected, other computers in the house can access the internet, but my computer has to be completely shut down and rebooted (just using restart doesn't work), in order to get reconnected to the internet.

Like I said, it only happens with this game, any other game or program, I'm able to jump right back in or access web pages, but ff14 forces a complete shut down.

Aide from "it doesn't happen with other games", what's making you say it's FF causing your net to disconnect and not the other way around?

Might try updating your network card/motherboard LAN drivers.

Any other game, get disconnected, immediately log back in.

If my connection went out, the modem would drop. If it was my computer, then the same thing would happen with any program, not just this game.

There's something different about FF14 that's causing my computer to murder the entire network connection. I have to shut down and reboot the computer.

This happens to me as well, and only when I play ARR. Although I don't lose all my connection. You should check out this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...atency-and-90k which seems likely to be the culprit.

Have you checked for malware? Something could be hooking into the MSIE component of the launcher and wreaking havoc, eventually leading to a network stall (will ultimately cause the game to crash due to loss of connectivity). Not hyperbole either... some have reported in multiple threads that they found suspicious programs installed or running in the background that indeed were the source of their problems.
