When will more Grand Company ranks be added???

When will more Grand Company ranks be added? I've been at max rank, with max seals for a very long time, and nothing worth spending seals on. The highest ilvl gear from GC is very under leveled.

It isn't even worth getting the level 50 GC set as you can earn tomestones of philosophy so fast now , that it makes more sense to spend a couple of days getting the far superior darklight set instead.

There is hardly anything that makes a character's starting nation choice relevant at all now.

Since the current GC gear caps at 50, logically any GC rank raise will come with higher level gear. And since they said new jobs will come with a level cap raise, you should look for new GC ranks when they announce new jobs. Likely all three will happen at the same time.

Not necessarily the current level of the Junior Officer items is 50, that is true. But the lower ranks have gear for all types of classes, DoW, DoM, DPS, Tank, exc. The Junior Officer rank only has very generic gear, more vanity then anything really. I could see gear added, at level 50 also, but more specialized. It is possible I think as we also have two ranks to go before breaking the JR officer set, namely 1st Lieutenant and Captain.

Who knows, maybe that Chocobo Respec everyone wants will be a Captain Rank item.

if we are lucky they will raise it with this 2.2 patch (not saying they will) just saying with the new dungeons and new ilvls and i90 being normal then it would be pretty smart to up the ranks for better gc gear.

it is entirely possible, we only know of half of the content being added in 2.2, and we will hear about the rest on the 21st.

remember we don't hear everything in the live letter just the big attention grabbers its the patch notes we will want to see, and man will i love looking over them just like the patch ntoes of 2.1 like a gitty school girl

Considering the Grand Companies now have very little to no bearing on the plot at all after the initial enlistment anyway, rank increases are a moot point. I still hold to the opinion that if I wasn't forced to join one just to continue the main storyline or use a personal mount I never would have bothered (I never joined one in 1.0 for that reason). Sure some of the gear is nice, but it's still just unnecessary padding to the story.

I hate to say it, but there is virtually little reason for the Grand Companies to exist gameplay wise now - their whole story reason for existing was purely for the Seventh Umbral Era to plug holes in manpower numbers in the leadup to the Battle of Carteneau (ala, filling gaps in their forces with adventurers), so their time in the sun has well and truly passed.

Besides, I'm an adventurer, not a soldier. If I wanted to be a soldier I would have joined the actual army!

I too would like to see more ranks added in the future, but I am in no rush and look forward to their eventual unveiling. I personally enjoyed attaining them.

Unlikely as they've repeatedly said they want you to do dungeons to get higher ilevel gear. They're not going to give it away free with seals.

I stand by my statement. You'll get more ranks when they raise the cap. There are actually more ranks that we don't have access to than we do. You can see all the unavailable ranks if you click on your own rank in the character screen.
