Reset - Prestige system (Suggestion/Idea)

Just linking this thread to another I got an idea of other bonus/reward/item that could be granted when you decide to reset your character or certain classes, or group of classes or whatever... Obtain a new phial of Fantasia for changing the race and etc of the character!...

Square Enix was studying how to grant more phials of Fantasia after all, isn't it?... This could be a good way to... Since you are redoing the character from zero and have to relevel it.... Be able to change appeareance would be a must.

PS: Please avoid comments such as "Make a new character, you start from zero again and you don't need a phial of Fantasia for change appeareance or race". The idea of the suggestion is to make something we can't do already, of course we can do that of make a new character right now... But the meaning of this thread is to give you the option of obtain extra things by deciding to take the hard work of leveling everything or a certain thing again, giving more sense to a restart and recycling content in a cool way.

They can simply add the Merit point system FFXI. Once you hit 50, u can level after that, where your exp will go into a different calculation where u get points to put into VIT, STR, or Incraese Shield bash during etc etc...

THAT!... It's a really awesome idea, Synapse-san!... To increase the effect of some skills, or their duration, or their damage, or upgrade their recast time... I hope Square Enix reads this, because you just had a genius idea. You kill two problems in one shot. Aside of this one, with that you'll achive to give the player more ways to customize their characters. (So maybe one person prefers for example to increase the recast of Fight and Flight, while others Rampage, or increase damage of RAge of Halone, or enmity bonus, bla bla bla...

Having different skills by selecting with one you want to upgrade more... Is a good way to prolongue the game, but also, the character customization.

PS: But if the Merit system as you said would be like that... It would be repeat a lot the content lvl 50 end-game that a lot of people already repeat, instead of 1-49 content. Still, it would be better than nothing.

I can really just speak for myself, but i don't think this is a good idea, and most people would not want/need it...

Why ?

Well, i love playing as WHM, PLD or BRD. But i would not reset these jobs, as i need them for Lv.50 content (Coil, CT, primals, dungeons)

As for the other jobs (right now i just miss DRG and MNK at 50), in general i was happy to get them to 50 and be done with them. I would not want to level them all over again.

There is no content that locks you out for being too high level, you can always run any dungeon at Lv.50 and get sync-ed down (i often tank low level dungeons for FC members)

So, personally i would only use that system if there was some super-awesome reward to it, and even then it would be a big chore/hassle to me.
