    [Suggestion] Class become viable at End Game content

    I hope they can make class become viable and utilize at high level content

    Maybe class have 2-3 unique ability that can be use by class itself beside they also able to get all cross ability from others, so its give player choice whether they want to play as class or job. At least give ppl to make many choices which they want to bring.

    Meanwhile for armor and weapon they can use from melded crafted or whatever that can be compare with relic/ allagan armor

    Please please make this happen, nowdays class only used until lvl 30 for lvling, after that bye bye class u are useless (lolclass). So boring to see all ppl use job only at high lvl content.

    Edit: that unique ability can be acquired by continue class quest, since now class quest seems stop at lvl 30 and continue with job quest. They can unlock more unique ability by class quest over lvl 30 though

    this would actually be a great idea. Like for example have the class be an alternative role type. This is basically already the case for the most part ie. MRD being the dps role while WAR is the tank role. I think there would need to be some major tweaking done however to prevent WAR from having too high of a dps potential. For example making it so that the dmg penalty currently on defiance is automatic when switching to warrior and giving a switch on/off enmity buff so that you do not pull aggro when not filling the main tank role, or leaving everything the same however disallowing access to the new dps-oriented skills that could come with being a MRD. when staying in MRD only a few additional dps-oriented skills would make them viable as a decent dps even endgame.

    Or for example with a CNJ - there would take little tweaking to make them a semi-viable dps role by giving them a select few additional skills catered to dps that would also not be available if you switch to white mage.

    I think this would offer a lot more utility as currently the classes are only a gateway to the end jobs and would also keep more people happy for a longer time and would be ALOT easier to implement than additional new jobs/classes that aren't actually in the game since the main elements are already in place for the current ones. Just to remind everyone, this would mean there would be a solid choice out of 17 (SEVENTEEN) different classes to play, rather than the 9 (10 if you count MRD for pvp) currently viable.

    I'm.... A lover of the classes and their customization... So far I had most of my classes levelled above 30 and even if I could unlock jobs I just didn't want to... Where others may were super happy unlocking them for me it was a pain, because I know I would loose customization of my character, those things that make it unique or at least just not the same to all the other jobs...

    But, no, we are forced to use job, it seems, because of the 'debuff' of stats in the classes...And some better skills in job, you can't receive much more useful skills with class it seems...In dungeon of the 35, not so really far of 30 I was starting to get kicked sometimes just by using lancer, archer, marauder... etc... (I can't imagine what would happen if I try in a level 50). Of course, at the end I was forced to take some of the jobs because of the damn stats. "Stats are better than some useless skills, believe me" and the job skills.

    Jobs are an addition that kind of ruin the games. There should be classes and 'skill-trait branches' so you can choose which branch take with a character, so other people may choosed with marauder having a certain skill but you choosed another.. And those things that work so well for customization. Plus that added with crosskills would be AWESOME.

    Imagine for example two different guys with different skills in their marauder, just by having a marauder and pugilist. But they choosed different tree banches in their marauders and pugilist, so different skills and traits in the marauder and also different crosskill from pugilist... Just imagining it would be great...

    Thanks for all feedback, and hope this information could be seen by SE representative and bring it to development for their decision.
    And yes from Garra mention, it will be like 17 choice that player can use at end game content.

    For noticeable different stat compare class and job, i trust them that they have solution for that

    I really wonder if groups have taken the classes at the higher level content, just for the heck of it.

    I have a feeling that they may not be 'as good' per se as when the classes specialize, but I really wonder if it is viable in its own way...?

    In stats, it is definitely easy to see how you lose a bit of utility, in addition for not being able to use 'job gear' and job specific abilities.

    But, it really reminds me alot of the FFT style of doing things, just a bit more expansive.

    because at the end of the day, the cross class skills you have access to are more then likely the only ones that would be useful to your class anyways so you dont need access to all of them when 99% of them are useless. why would a puglist ever need surecast savage blade or provoke? why would a healer ever need mercy stroke or venmous bite? why would an archer ever need cure or fracture?. at the end of the day your gimping your healing/tanking/damage output, thats why your being kicked. if you wanna run as a class and not a job i suggest making a linkshell and finding like minded people to run with it.

    As of right now, class is not "accepted" in community for end game content, here is why:
    - Job have better stat than Class
    - Job have unique ability than Class
    - Class nothing to offer much except have more cross ability that they can choose

    As i created this forum, hopefully team developer can consider that they can give more option for player whether they want to use class or job in the endgame content
    By giving class also have unique ability that only class itself can be use, getting armor/weapon more dependly on melded crafted or allagan/primal ex and better stat

    Example the unique ability
    ex. Pugilist Class
    - Fist of Water, pugilist to drain mob's hp every auto attack hit
    - Simian Trash is ninefold attack

    or Lancer Class
    - Penta Thrust, is five hit attack

    It doesn't make class is overpower than the job itself or also vice versa.
    Only give opportunity for player to decide over 17 classes & job choice or only 9 job choice for end game content
