    Oh yeah. It would be very foolish to not have your high resolution assets available.
    For textures, all they really have to do is apply the originals to the models and do some cleanup. For high poly assets, they'd have to reconstruct the whole model using the zbrush sculpt as a base. That takes a lot of time and effort. Not to mention having to reapply all the skeletons for proper animation. I'm sure they still have much of the high poly 1.0 models available, but it doesn't account for all the new stuff they added.

    One certainly hopes. It doesn't usually bother me, but it's kind of awful how lo-res some of the stuff is. I mean, my god, the pixels. You even see crazy pixellation in the trailer for 2.5 like on Gulool Ja Ja.

    ya but you make a normal-map (bump/displacement) from it, and apply to a low poly model, so it looks close (ish) to it, but with much less polygons.

    For the love of <insert what you love most here>... PLEASE add these high-quality textures.

    I am not going to complain, but I would like to explain why I was rather upset with my $40 marriage purchase in game. I bought the marriage excited for my wedding dress. Yes, the dress is beautiful and well designed. Unfortunately, when you look at some of the details Square implemented into the dress you find that it is extremely blurry. This is super distracting. When taking a screenshot the textures are even bad...

    Yes please, give us high resolution textures. Really, some of the details...I mean lack of them...is just friggin' jarring on PC. Especially in this day and age.

    This has been made in Zbrush. You see all of that intricate detail? It's going to be converted into a a flat texture we call a "normal map". We'll not have that level of detail in-game, at all.

    Sorry. No can do -- ps3/4 limitations.

    This is one of the reasons why consoles (relatively low-end to low mid-range proprietary computers w/ ~closed eco-systems) are bad for the gaming industry.

    This is one of the very few things that bugs me about this game. Not enough to deter me from playing at all, but still there. After playing ESO for 9 or so months, the textures and models in that game were amazing (even the "painted on" armor pieces had excellent textures.) and you can see the difference here, especially in cut scenes. High Res Textures for the PC, I'm all in!

    When YoshiP said that we wouldn't notice the low res... I think that's a veeeeery bold assumption. Today's PCs are incredibly strong and it doesn't take much to see the blatant difference between the his-res item of 1.0 and the botched items of +2.x.

    Take this robe for exemple. I really like this royal set but what prevents me from enjoying it is the major difference between the crown and the robe. It's not rocket science and you can clearly see it even from far away.



    In my opinion, with the coming of 3.0, I believe SE should up their game in term of graphics. This game looks amazing and many great ideas are being implemented but think its about time to focus of those little details too. Hell... I'm not a sucker for high graphic but Team Fortress 2's hats look better than this game in some aspects! xD
