Extremely Low Textures

Recently bought a new PC and a 4k monitor as well as a PS4, played with the beta during the Beta weekend. Is there a reason PC/PS4 users are capped at 256 resolution pixels, I can understand the hardware limitations of the PS3? Is it possible for SE to release some new resolutions for PC/PS4?

I think they talked about some DX11 upgrades/new features but I'm not sure if that includes an HD texture pack as well.

Unfortunately not, only some enhanced lightning effects. I would love for them to release high resolution texture pack for PC and PS4 users, they can't let PS3 hold them down forever.

^ this. No higher res textures planned for the dx11 client. There's a quote from Yoshi where he said they only used low res on some stuff and he didn't think people would notice. So there's no plan for higher res textures.

it's not only the PS3, but also the old PCs in the China internet cafe's.

But seeing that graphic is more a client side thing and there would be no problem for PS3 if PC and PS4 get a high-res upgrade (except that PS3 graphic would then look more outdated than it is now), it can't be because the PS3.

If SE would upgrade the textures (by that i mean all of it - resolution, alpha, specular, more detailed artwork etc) I would chuck every penny in. Its not very 2014 (infact I wouldnt even say its very 2010).

Even if they just increased gear/weapon textures to start with that would make a huge difference.

I disagree that textures are muddy. FXAA is the culprit. Turn it off and play with a third party tool like sweet fx. If anyone wants to see a 3240x1920 resolution screen grab of this game, I'd be happy to send it to you over email.

It's not all textures like terrain etc. If you look at some weapon's or gear's texture you clearly say that some of them are simply horrible in details.
