I typically use something called Mirillis Action!. Not sure if you are looking for free options, or commercial. However, so far anyways, I've found this one to be the best. Recording at various resolutions, it tends to take rather low overhead on the cpu. It also has default options for various resolution adjustments of 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, and 1080p. In any case, there is a free trial of it if you may want to try it out and see how it treats your laptop. Hope ya find something that will work for ya all the same. GL!
