Yes it sad. I'm not comfortable with shells adopting this policy, seems like a giant step backwards to me. I like the freedom to hang with different groups and I don't see the point in becoming possessive over your members unless they lack social graces. We shouldn't have to feel like we need to restrict members to earn their loyalty imo. It's sad how far people have come from the "one linkshell" policy that most endgame LS's had as a rule.
Well, I guess once the HNMs start coming out and more endgame starts showing up there will be a lot of shells that have conflict with each other and a whole shit storm of drama will occur.
People won't be complaining about this once it all starts going down, it will end up being "Why do you have THAT shell?" and other things like that.
if someone wants to go and judge me for being in multiple linkshells that's their problem not mine. no matter how many shells i join and enjoy the company of i have one main ls and the rest are friends i join with occasionally. It's sad how far people have come from the "one linkshell" policy that most endgame LS's had as a rule.

Hopefully this would be sooner than later. You could make it since you have linkshell chat numbers you could make it something like type /ls1 /ls2 /ls3 to chat to that corresponding LS. Ofcourse I understand there is a lot more work involved to make this happen I trust that you guys could make it happen.
It's a disappointment it'll take quite some time. I don't see how /l1, /l2, etc. is so hard to integrate. Imo this is something that bothers me very much. Especially while crafting: need to stop crafting, get up, change ls, start crafting again; and this multiple of times. It annoys me extremely.
At first I thought it was cool that I could see the chat from multiple link shells, but now I don't think I like it too much. I think it promotes having a lot of link shells, which leads to a lot of people who just jump around a lot or only spend a few seconds/minutes in a few of them. It's not a good thing when link shells fill up so fast and its next to impossible to clean house unless the people are logged on and basically standing right next to you.
Well that just depends on how you use it I think. Like if I had this for my FFXI I would of had 3 linkshells. At first I thought it was cool that I could see the chat from multiple link shells, but now I don't think I like it too much. My casual LS to talk to members casually, My HNMLS where I can have members not in my casual LS also come in and join in on HNM runs, and my Dynamis LS since we had other members from other HNMLS or Casual LS guys come together just for Dynamis. Just set different colors for the linkshell and have the feature people talking in here /l1, /l2, /l3 to be able to change linkshells right away - no matter what linkshell you're using it's easy to tell by LS crest (please add more!!!!) and looking at LS members and seeing who's currently using that linkshell as main.
Also agree on you about how the linkshell feature to be able to kick (delete) members from the linkshell without having that person being online or offline, or being close to you or not. Also needs feature to assign sub-leaders anywhere + having more options for sub-leaders giving permissions on what they can do and can't do in the linkshell.
Hope when devs get the server software improved they can make these changes... + linkshell bank would be nice too.. linkshell bank with log so we know who pulling in/out item/money from LS bank... wished FFXI had this, would of solved some big ass debate we had LOL.
I personally hate the fact that we can equip more than 1 LS.
I would much rather this game promote loyalty to one LS. Accountability an cohesion are very important in group play.
sadly WoW did this well.
I loathe the trend in most games to force people to play with a single guild/LS.
I certainly don't want to be stuck with the same bunch of people all the time. I don't have a single group of friends in real life, why would I be forced to in a game?
