    The Monk thread

So Ive been working on gearing and setting up my monk, and i feel i have hit all BiS pieces but that is a subject for another thread so dont make this about gear, so i can be the most viscous dps in the game . I have been playing around with a lot of different rotations and im trying to find the optimal one but I seem to hear lots of different things on the use of fracture in the rotation. As most of us know the base damage and the damage over time from fracture is pretty good. But does it actually slow you down in the long run? from what i have noticed just using it in fights I seem to run out of tp a lot faster w/ fracture and it also takes time away i could use to be doing my combos. I generally use Dragon Kick > Twin snakes > demolish > Touch of death(subject to not be used if still up with 10+ secs)> booth shine > true strike > snap punch > repeat. Throwing in my off global cool downs and using perfect balance to rebuild greased lightning 3 at important points. pretty much my internal release and blood for blood are always on cool down. as well as steel peak(if im not stunning) and howling fist. I also use mercy stroke at 20% hp when its up.

Throwing in fracture seems to make me run out of tp faster as well if im able to have greased lightning 3 up at all times.

So feel free to post your monk rotations in responses. But bottom line question of the day: Is fracture worth it for monks? If so, why?

I understand that there is another thread and I have sifted through the posts but there is such an array of posts and so many to read through. so I thought I could get a simple discussion here on the matter.

Just looking for some opinions without having to read through a thousand posts just to find a response to my questions ^^

This thread isnt just to discuss everything monk. mainly the use of fracture.

Don't necessarily need to read the entire thread. You can just post any questions you have with the job there and you'll get the attention of more MNK players who are likely subscribed to the thread lol.

In favor of not just being another "wrong thread" post though:

Fracture isn't a reliable DPS increase overall. While technically it is above your average DPS, it fits awkwardly into the dance that is MNK DPS in terms of proper upkeep of Twin Snakes and maybe even Dragon Kick.

So overall, I suggest dropping Fracture in most cases.

Also, stop thinking in terms of rotations for MNK. You basically alternate between 2 combos:

Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Finisher

Bootshine > True Strike > Finisher

You use Demolish as a finisher if it's not already on the target. Otherwise you use Snap Punch.

Outside of that basic alternation, you simply toss Touch of Death on the target whenever it runs out (provided the target isn't going to die really fast).
