Crystal Tower: Atomos, the platforms and the giants

As someone that is aware that we're always learning, I would like to ask something about Crystal Tower and the Atomos fight that I'm not really sure about right now, so that maybe someone more knowledgeable than myself can bring some light over it.

I know that you need four people on each platform to make vulnerable the corresponding Atomos for the other groups and prevent the Iron Giants from appearing. I also know that you must have at least 18 people inside because locking someone else outside can make the giants spawn, and that you must have a bare minimum of people alive or they spawn too. However, I've been told today by a couple of people that having MORE than four people on the platforms makes the giants appear too.

I can't find any confirmation on that, and sometimes I've stood on the platform after killing our Atomos (trying to help just in case someone leaves it), yet I've never seen the giants spawn for doing so (maybe the timer for them spawning is longer that what it took us to clear the room, I don't know). Is that true or are those players mistaken and having more than four people on them does nothing wrong?

I hope that someone can clarify this for me and maybe for others that could have this same question, please

From what I have seen the only Iron Giant trigger in that fight is having a Valefor(Demon Dragon), Dira(Succubus), and Greater Demon alive for to long at the same time in anyone area. If all three are alive they will be connected to each other by a set of purple lines and the Iron Giant will spawn if one does not die before a short count down.

I've never seen giants spawn even with the entire party on our button and waiting for a minute+ for another group to kill their atomos.

If it's a thing it likely takes too much time to worry about it.

Yeah, that has been my experience there too, and that's why I was a bit concerned when more than one person from different parties told me that (one was very "angry", to say it politely, and I was even called a troll for going there). I've done it many times since CT was introduced, both as tank and dps, and I've never seen the iron giants appear just because everyone was waiting on the platform after our Atomos died, but who knows. Maybe someone else had seen it happen.

Someone saw and Iron Giant appear for some other reason and drew the wrong conclusion. It's safe to go to the platform.

Someone told me that having the whole party stand on the platform after Atomos is dead will keep that platform's connected Atomos from spawning anymore adds. No idea if that's true. It's pretty rare to have a party that's far enough ahead on DPS that you'd actually be able to tell.

I noticed the purple lines to Atomos/whatnot but I'm not sure what that is about.

I've had the whole party stand on platform after killing Atomos while waiting for either the next alliance over to kill Atomos or for the whole raid to... but no Iron Giant appeared unless an alliance got wiped from not being able to deal with adds. I think you were getting chewed out over wrong conclusions made by a misinformed party.

I've also never seen or heard of what casues adds to stop spawning or if it is related to the fact that when my groups' dps on Atomos is lower than the respective alliance that we can all step off the platform to dps Atomos and not have any additional spawns.

The giant only spawns if a party got wiped or if 3 spawns are up for a period of time, they get the purple line between them and summon him.
