Hello!
I'm wondering what normal DPS would be for a BRD on T4. I'd like to know if I'm under-performing or not in my group. Thanks in advance.
Hello!
I'm wondering what normal DPS would be for a BRD on T4. I'd like to know if I'm under-performing or not in my group. Thanks in advance.
You should try to be no lower than ~20% below your top dps if you are comparably geared.
Exact numbers will depend on where your group is struggling and therefore where you are blowing cooldowns.
For instance, if you're blowing through the dreadnaughts but having a bit of trouble in the AoE phases, then using more cooldowns for AoE will end up increasing your overall dps.
You don't want to do this just to pad your numbers though, so DPS numbers can (and should) be subjective on this fight.
Just make sure you have your straight shot buff up and a few dots ticking during AoE phases so that you can get Bloodletter resets while doing your AoE rotation.
Don't forget that you can continue to fit Bloodletter/Flaming Arrow/Repelling Shot/Blunt Arrow between AoE globals just like you can with your single target skills, so don't ignore them.
Make sure to keep on top of invigorate usage (use it as soon as you go under 600TP and then every time you can on cooldown for the rest of the fight).
Keep Windbite/Venomous Bite up on as many knights/dreadnaughts as you can to fuel your Bloodletter procs during phases 2/5/6.
And then time your buffs so that you have them up during the phases that your group needs a bit of extra damage.
Macros are your friend :3
Start with Straight shot everytime - get your crit buff from that.
Apply Venomous Bite, then Wind Bite.
From there, just blast Heavy Shot until you get Proc for Straight Shot, or until buff runs out.
Reapply DOTs as necessary.
This should help you maximize your DPS.

Straight Shot

Venomous Bite

Wind Bite

Those dots are inefficiently written, you'll lose DPS.

On XIVAPP, you should aim for at least like 250 DPS on every encounter. If you're doing lower than that at i90, you need to monitor why. Pay attention to if you're letting dots fall off, missing procs, not using your buffs well, running out of TP, etc.
Do you prefer to have it like this?:
Wind Bite
/macroicon "Windbite"
/ac "Windbite" <t>
/ac "Misery's End" <t>
/ac "Bloodletter" <t>
/wait
/ac "Misery's End" <t>

There's really no reason to put ME/BL together with more than one of your skills. (I prefer Venomous Bite because it gets used the least which means you can take advantage of the buffered action queue more often)
But when you do combine them with an ability that's on the Global Cooldown, you always want to put the skill that's on the global cooldown first.
This ensures you can properly weave ME/BL in-between globals instead of accidentally firing them when your GCD is up.
Okay, I'm always above 250 so I guess I'm fine. Thank you.
Brd is a burst job/support job.250 dps should be fine. T5 you really only need to be above 200. And I'm pretty sure WB before VB.
