    Titan Extreme Plumes

So I am a ilv 82 WHM playing on PS3, and I am having trouble avoiding the plumes. The Extreme version to be exact.

It seems like no matter how prepared I am for them to come, I still get hit and suffer the damage for it. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong or if it's just lag, because I could be the first person out of the AoE and still be the only person to die from the attack.

Like I said, it doesn't matter how prepared I am for the incoming attack. I know the order in which they pop, and I'll even have sprint popped before the attack even begins; just to make sure I get out of the AoE. Unfortunately, I still get hit. It's so frustrating!

I've never had this issue before in any Titan fight, or any fight in general. But this fight, ARG!!

Basically at this point, I'm looking for advice on what I can do. Is this problem a bug in the game or just my bad luck?

Hi there, I also play on a PS3! The biggest improvement for me personally was to use a wired connection. When I first started learning Titan Ex, I was on wireless, which was a big mistake because even though it looked like I was out of plumes, I still got killed. Changing over to ethernet full wired connection has fixed this entirely. When I run out of plumes, I now know for a fact that I'm out and won't get killed. Same for landslides. Honestly, I don't think I could ever play this mode if I stayed on wireless.

sounds like delay, however you also have to move as soon as they appear so either strafe left or right, or change to legacy mode and just move left/right. either way you probably need something like battleping, wtffast, loweping to reduce the ping.

I'm not sure how they exactly work, but I don't think battleping, wtffast, or loweping will help on ps3.

My advice for avoiding plumes is to NOT stack as most people do. Instead stay a little behind the group. So if you are hit, it's not instant death. Basically you wanna make it so if you are hit it's only by one plume instead of four.

And DBthaONE, I might need to try that.
It's a fantastic idea just make sure your group is okay by it because after certain phases, it becomes no longer feasible. I was passed the same suggestion not long ago, then given tomatoes to my face for doing it pre-heart phase. Ironically, the same tomato throwing person liked to plant his plume next to the group's stack of plumes (he told me it kills people).

    like wtfreally? /sodonewithtitan

I also find the titan EX plumes unforgiving. When either server/my latency is bad I can die from plumes even when I'm a full plume-distance away from it. And other times I think I'm going to die, I get away scott-free.

I hate HATE failing titan because of latency/lag. It feels like a cop-out even if it's true.

DBthaone thats a very good idea. If the OP can get into a group with friends, then he can hang in the back. There will be big problems on double plumes though. Theres not much room during that phase, with the sludge covering half the arena. OP Your the healer too, thats no bueno! If your co healer is really good, he could possibly solo after double plumes.

I used to play on ps3 with wireless connection in september. I was doing titan hm at the time and I got to a point where I could dodge everything. Titan ex the plume times are a bit faster I believe. I would strongly suggest finding a way to go hardwired. This may make a difference. It could just be your ISP though. Ps4 may make a slight difference as well, for the graphical lag aspect. All those little things could add up. But this is the reason I built my own pc months back. I knew it would be really difficult to beat T5 and fights like titan ex on ps3 wireless. Not impossible, but ps3 users are def at a disadvantage.

You also need to inform your party that you're going to do this as some people naturally run backwards instead of to the sides as most people do (I am guilty of it). It will save you from being needlessly blamed for a wipe for not stacking with everyone.

This is very important! Thanks for pointing it out.
