I still have no idea what this company stuff is supposed to be like.
I'd appreciate some NEW AND USEFUL AND REAL info!

Company stuff? The grand companies? Haven't had any real news on that in awhile I don't think.
Other than that, the forum team probably had a day off, they do have lives. lol
Patience.. 1.18.. or 1.19.. It's coming. Patience. :P
Oh it can come out in 1.21 for all it matters. I just want some info to actually CARE for it xD
There's an interview on the french forums: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...513#post211513
I can translate real fast here's stuff I personally didn't know:
1rst question: Why have the city states decided to form the grand companies? Have these organisations existed before in the past?
Answer: That's actually in the lodestone so I'm not translating it... XD
2ond question: What are the roles of the different character classes within these grand companies? How will they interact with each other?
Answer: Adventurers will work with the grand companies of the 3 city states by undertaking missions acquired from them. A large variety of missions will be available according to whether one wants to concentrate on battle, crafting or other activities. Naturally, there will be missions that will be too difficult for adventurers to undertake alone, and will force players to form groups to enjoy. Also, there are rumors spreading about adventurer contigents that the grand companies are recruiting. So pay attention to the attitude of grand companies of the three city states towards adventurers.
Third question: One of the new challenges that adventurers can tackle are dungeons. What kind of dangers will we confront in these new environments?
One part of the approaching menace against Eorzea will soon be revealed! In light of this, two new dungeons will demand both courage and wisdom to accomplish. These are not simple dungeons that can be finished by defeating the boss. Furthermore (therefore?), they will be created in such a way that there will still be content to see after a first visit, so that adventurers won't complete them so easily. In Eorzea, new adventures are awaiting those ready to participate! We hope these new endeavors will please you.
Wootz!
If you actually read the front page of The Lodestone under topics — you'll see that they have been releasing small bits of info leading up to patch 1.18.
new info mixed in today about it ....i'm not impressed. it's solo play crap and sounds like campaign ops, and not many people even did campaign ops. so if it is anything like what i'm thinking this will be failed garbage. if the rewards are good only reason people will do them at all.
Did you not see that companies seem to be linked with dungeons?new info mixed in today about it ....i'm not impressed. it's solo play crap and sounds like campaign ops, and not many people even did campaign ops. so if it is anything like what i'm thinking this will be failed garbage. if the rewards are good only reason people will do them at all.
Upon induction, you will be awarded the initial rank given to all new recruits, and may count yourself among elite. Company members will be assigned missions vital and diverse in nature, ranging from skirmishes with Garlean forces and savage beast tribes to supply replenishment and manufacturing. Whatever your strength and specialty, rest assured in the knowledge that your presence will make a difference.
Prove your worth by unfailingly completing the tasks assigned, and you will climb the ranks and be entrusted with missions of greater import and issued powerful equipment befitting your prowess. As a special provision exempts adventurers from bound service, you are free to take up the cause at your own pace and convenience. Yet know that disaster waits for no man, like a dark cloud overhead spreading its shadowy demesne ahead of the coming storm. And when the day of reckoning arrives, all adventurers will find their steel tested to the farthest limit.
you'll need to probably do lots of different types, like "campaign ops", they had skirmish, they had crafting ones, they all weren't very fun, i basically repeated the same crafting one just to get the points for signet and items in it.
if it's connected to the dungeons it's only cause u can grab the dungeon from the company npc, probably have story connected to them with some of the missions they send you on for it. all in all though it still sounds like it's campaign ops, i'm sure not the same but guess we'll see. but anyway nothing from what i was picturing it as, i played allods so tanaka's idea sounded more like what i wanted. this is solo friendly quests, craft items for npc's, go collect stuff, kill some mobs, protect npc's. lot of "meh" stuff that after doing them one time u'll find u dont' really want to do them anymore.
repeating leves was already bad enough, now repeating what seems the same as leves in a new name. but i can be wrong an it can be great, but i got my gils on it sucking now.
