I had a character called Glitch Hitch in Excalibur server but my friends where playing in Ultros. So I made a character in Ultros named Glitch Hitch to reserve the name just in case for that time when transfers between Legacy to Non-Legacy servers became available.
This Saturday morning, I was finally able to move my character from Excalibur over to Ultros. Once the transfer was done, I log in my account and deleted the character that I had made in Ultros to reserve the name, so that it would default to my old character that I just transferred... and it did. If I check the Lodestone, it shows only one character named Glitch Hitch in Ultros... my old character.
However, when I try to log in with my old, just transferred, character, a window pops up saying that I need to rename it in order to play, and the "accept" button is greyed out. It is expecting me to change name, even though I shouldn't have to, because I already deleted the character that was holding the name. In fact, if I try to make a new character in Ultros named Glitch Hitch, I will get an error saying that the name is already used and that I should choose another.
The accept button should not be greyed out even if the name hasn't been changed. If the name was really in use, we would get the same error as when trying to make a new character all the same. Even if I were to rename my character for something else, lets say: John Doe, and someone already has that name, I would be given an error message even tho the "accept" button was enabled to me because I typed something different than Glitch Hitch.
I should be able to "accept" the same name my old character has because I just made it available after deleting the 'name-holder' character.
Conclusion: The fact that the "accept" button in the rename window is disabled by default, is a problem that should be fixed.
