I would want this concept executed differently than it was in FFXI. Sneak/Invis would be something that would only be useful in those few alliance areas I spoke of. In FFXI, sneak/invis had to be used all the time as you leveled up in the game.

the game revolves around the majority and if the majority doesn't want it then that is the way it is.
I honestly enjoy being able to freely explore all the overworld areas of FFXIV. If something agros me I can just kill it, because that's what's fun for me.
I don't want areas where I need to get a party or alliance to be able to explore them, that's what dungeons are for.
People always talk about how it was so much fun to sneak/invisible in FFXI. The way I remember it, it wasn't even fun the first time we passed through an area, it was just annoying.

I'm this game, mobs are a nuisance at best. One sleep or aggro onto the fairy, etc and they are dealt with and one can go about their day. There is zero risk as a 50 to go anywhere, I would love for some rare spawn marbol to come and cast Extremely Bad Breath on the party.
Tonberries that Instant-KO with Chef's Knife. Not saying that it has to be FFXI where running past a bunny makes you quake in your boots, but some actual danger, especially in beastman strongholds, would be a nice change.A few Malboro Notorious Monsters have a deadly variant called Extremely Bad Breath, so toxic that it inflicts Instant K.O. on all in range.

Exactly. And for those wanting sneak and invisible to return, just remember in FFXI SE effectively made those spells useless anyway with a lot of higher level mobs having truesight and truehearing which completely ignored those spells and attacked the player anyway. Redundant spells are redundant I hate to say.I honestly enjoy being able to freely explore all the overworld areas of FFXIV. I'm glad ARR I can head from one city to another with relative ease even at low levels and not have to worry about some stupid trash mob picking a fight with me as it just makes things annoying when I want to get somewhere in a hurry. Leave high level agro for dungeons and out-of-reach areas and let newbie areas remain exactly that.

Not sure though... I kinda miss the feel back in 1.0 when trying to sneak to dangerous area, gave a sense of thrill. Now? Have to admit that it's a bit boring.
Fortunately, playing XI kinda does gave that feeling back, in a sense. Maybe it's just me though...
And just what reason would anyone have to form an ALLIANCE for open world trash-hunting?
HNMs? They don't NEED zones where non-raiders can't go .. to me, those who call for 'alliance only' content are this game's version of 'raiders needs exclusive content' in most other MMOs.
BTW, V1 had zones like this .. Mor Dhona had some mobs way, way over the level 50 cap players had, I have screenshots showing level 89 'hogs' whatever they were called, as just one example .. and alliances only went there for HNMs, the rest of the time it was empty of players, a totally worthless zone and a waste of the developers' time creating it.

This is what I'm saying.. Mobs in strongholds should be much tougher. We need some seriously dangerous zones with many OPTIONAL quests that send you there. Also i think the tether between monsters following you should be MUCH longer.. and get rid of that silly "invulnerable" when they run away..
Maybe what they do is add new areas with all of these different things in an expansion so that all of the starting areas are still easy for new players.
