commendations???

Do these commendations lead to anything or are they just there to make you feel good about your progress???

There are achievements you get at milestones (i.e., 50, 100 etc)
They come with items that include Minions, Chocobo Barding, and Vanity items.

... AND, they make you feel good about your progress

I seem to get Commendations when I don't deserve them and don't get them when I do a good job! lol

Kinda makes me wonder if Players actually use the Commendation count to evaluate ones skill.

The first 1-2 weeks when commendations was a new feature I got so many so fast.. I reached 100 in a matter of a couple of weeks. Now it seems like people have stopped giving them out for the most part and I still haven't even reached 300 yet. I still give them out though. I think people stopped giving them out because they want the rewards to be rare so that when they reach 500 commendations it wont be so special anymore to have that gold colored Magitek Armor mount. That's just my theory.

Last night I received 2 commendations in Haukke Manor HM as SMN. I was well outperforming the other DPS (they were mostly dark light Bard) and handled massive AoE pulls well but other then that I don't know why I received 2. I gave my vote to the healer who was geared just right for the dungeon since they handled the i90 warrior's massive pulls decently (despite us wiping twice because of it)

I think commendations are given to the funniest and most entertaining players, ever since i started my new character on Siren I raked in more commendations than my first character on Leviathan has within my first week of playing the character. I am still not sure what I am doing to earn the commendations other than I know most of the dungeons and not making idiot dps mistakes like I did on my Dragoon on the other server.

I finally got my 50th today. They come slow as a dps, but monk and bard seem to get them more than summoner or dragoon, at least in my experience. Wondering how much that number will jump when I start seriously leveling tanks and heals. XD

I once did a dungeon with a healer that literally made me laugh at loud because of their personality. Wish I could have given them more than one commendation
