    So unlikely.

2.0/Its been 'in production' a good while, certainly long enough for them to decide to RELEASE IT. Comeon.
It may be unlikely but its true. 2.0 only happened because of the the staff changes and Yoshi took over (after there last roadmap ended and they were free to do so), You may have not been there but as soon as yoshi was in place, he sent out that long survey on what to do with the game. Yoshi rebuilt the game from scratch due to the survey information at the time.

2.0 production didn't even come into being until later than December after 1.0 was released.

    more things added/changed
dalamud falling starts taking place setting up for 2.0
    end of the era
    game goes down
2.0 starts being fully developed now that 1.0 content is no longer relevant
    time passes

    2.0 released.

All in all they rebuilt the game in a couple short years and had nowhere the time invested as in the original 1.0. If you mean 2.0's development as about 2 or so years as a long while, then I can agree with you. But I don't personally consider about 2-3 years to reconvert a game into a new game engine a long time heheh
