I always thought it would be a good idea to have dungeons or instanced events specific to crafters and gatherers, like a dungeon made for them.
Maple Story has already done this for gathering, sort of. In Maplestory they have instanced areas for low level gathering, but they aren't really dungeons and you don't have to party with anyone. SE could do this but have it be more elaborate and comparable to combat dungeons, and instead of bosses there could be tougher gathering/crafting challenges, while between bosses would be easier gathering and crafting requirements.


Back in 1.0, there's content called Hamlet Defense, which also drops beastcoins needed to start relic reborn. They also drops militia tools & gears which are nowadays can be crafted.
And to achieve that, need full party consisting of almost every disciples, since usually disciples of war are not really needed.
But most of all, DoH/DoL are very important because they are the key that decide the survivability of that Hamlet Defense. Even popular setting for full party usually needs 2 or even 3 DoH. Majority setting usually are 1 tank (not really needed, even whm can replace this), 2/3 whm, 2/3 DoH, & 2 DoL.

other than melding i dont see how you can get crafters more invovled in end game. . in regards to primals weapons. instead of handing the weapon directly to the player. they could change it to something similar to the relic quest.
craters make the base weapon: from mats gathered from CT/dungoen chests
special materias you get from each primal.
special catalyst can only be obtained from coil. (those pointless turn1 chests or put them in turn3?)
to get the ex primal weapon you need the base weapon+melded 3 special materia+the correct catalyst.
