Why not unlock myth and BC now?

Well in 3 weeks time you will know. Basically it is not unlikely. And WP, AK etc are already at "useless" stage if you'd like to call it - literally something people just run for quick myths or just for relic quest. Do people farm Primal HM for weapons these days? Nope because you have Primal EX weapons already.

There are plenty of people that still haven't gotten any Primal EX weapon...

While people may not announce Primal HM farm runs much in the PF these days, they still happen.
Thornmarch in particular is fairly common as it's fairly easy and provides i75 weapons for people that want better weapon before they take on Titan HM for yet another relic quest.

Not everyone are capable of clearing the Extremes, and among those not everyone can afford to pay their way through...

While it will be easier to gear up to 90 from 2.2, most people are still going to go through gradual gear upgrades until they have one job/class equipped well enough that they can use that to farm gear for the other jobs they level.

I really don't see what harm we will get by unlocking myth and BC t1-5 now.

I would support it, currently for the last few weeks all we do is log in on the start of the week and thats it.

By unlocking the two, i can help guildees/mates in readiness for 2.2; and actually do something extra rather then running around in limsa or revants toll...... (you know you do it too!)

Players are not ilvl90 in a day. You start at a point where you cannot even attempt Titan HM, let alone extremes primals and BC. People do still farm HM primals for weapons, and people still gather philo tomes for Darklight gear. The claimed 2.2 grind is vastly easier than the present grind to i70. If that went through as you envision, the amount of viable endgame content would decrease.

Agree with both of you if you're referring to brand new players, as of now it's a little "no choice" but to go for gradual upgrades. But as of 2.1 it's still not too bad - with dailies, WP/AK nerfed and CT, getting to DL with a few CT pieces shouldn't be too difficult. Yeah they still need to go through gradual upgrades, but it's certainly easier.

But if you'd like to say that not everyone can clear Primal Extremes and thus don't have an i90 weapon, then I can't really see them clearing T5 either. I'm not trying to be mean, but I think you guys can agree with me that things like Titan HM/EX is really good training on dive bomb dodging. These contents, which don't have weekly lock out actually gives good training for BC.

Like I previously mentioned, SE can't provide all players with skills, but what SE can help you with to catch up is an easier gear upgrade path. New player playing FF14, but found out that the majority of the players are already beyond what you are probably going to play now? Fred not, you don't need to kill Primal EX for that i90 weapon. Just farm the easy peasy WP for 900 phil and myth and you can easily get your Relic Zennith and your myth tome pieces. Then you should be good to go to join the pack and have hands on on the latest content. That's what SE has decided to do for patch 2.2

In a sense I think it's great. Not all new players are bad players, and with people leaving or taking a break from the game, it's always a welcome to see them climb up faster and join everyone for some end game fun.
