This is something that I think will have to happen with the release of patch 2.2. Why would anyone run an raid to get 1 piece of ilvl 80 gear per week when they can run an raid to get unlimited ilvl 90 gear per week? I mean, sure people will still need to gear up for coil, but really what percentage of the player base is that? Now, I am fine with waiting till the end of the month for the patch, however once that hits, SE basically makes CT worthless.

This is all well and fine to players who are more than willing to run content ad exhaustium for their myth gear. If you have only 1 class to gear up, it's a fair enough deal. But for those who may have 3+, farming the ~6k myth (which is a hell of a lot of runs of things) for each class is not something they want to do. CT will still offer the more casual players a means of obtaining gear for their alternative classes whilst they build up their myth gear for their main. Sure, they could also run Coil 1-5 for their Allagan i90 pieces, but the same idea applies: drops are random; it could take 1 run or it could take 10+ runs to get the 1-2 piece(s) of gear you want from any particular turn.

The fact is, there are still other options for getting gear and even more so for alternative classes. And they don't involve having to repeat the same thing until you're close to boredom. For players like myself, who enjoy playing and making slower progress (because I'm still having fun), it doesn't change anything.

What seems to be forgotten by a lot of players on these forums is that there are still new players coming into the game. There are also lots of players in the game, who have been playing since launch, who are still only just working on their first relics. Some players enjoy playing the game, and not simply burning to the top of the game. The HM primals will still be relevant next year, as will CT and Coil 1-5. It's relevant as long as their are players who take them time and work on things slower than the rest. And that's still a considerable percentage of the total playerbase.
