They would completely destroy all uses of WP, PS, CBHM, and HMHM -- all of them would never be run at all for any reason. AK and HM primals would be run-once for relic quests. Gearing in i90 would take a weekend, and all content in between would be rot.

Fresh 50 to BCT1-5 progression. As soon as you hit 50, you hop into CT, then a Saturday later, you're ready for BC.

Well in 3 weeks time you will know. Basically it is not unlikely. And WP, AK etc are already at "useless" stage if you'd like to call it - literally something people just run for quick myths or just for relic quest. Do people farm Primal HM for weapons these days? Nope because you have Primal EX weapons already.

Yes all these contents will be obsolete just like how Primal HM and and WP/AK are obsolete now. They will go obsolete anyways. That's how SE will make them to be. To go T6 you must pass T5, and in order to close the game to allow more players (and new players) to reach T6, SE has to pave the way.

And unlocking BC1-5 and full myth unlock, allowing you to gain full i90 will give you an easier time to clear T5 (with echo buff). Plus having i90 will be kinda the new "norm" in 2.2 - Yoshida already said T6 will be just like how we first entered T1 (when BC was just released) in DL gears.

All in all, SE wants more people to experience the new contents. To do so you need to close the gap. SE can't grant you skills so all they can help is grant you gears and "echo buff". Plus new contents will be much tougher, so entering 2.2 contents in i90 is really nothing new/surprising.

Players are not ilvl90 in a day. You start at a point where you cannot even attempt Titan HM, let alone extremes primals and BC. People do still farm HM primals for weapons, and people still gather philo tomes for Darklight gear. The claimed 2.2 grind is vastly easier than the present grind to i70. If that went through as you envision, the amount of viable endgame content would decrease.

There are plenty of people that still haven't gotten any Primal EX weapon...

While people may not announce Primal HM farm runs much in the PF these days, they still happen.
Thornmarch in particular is fairly common as it's fairly easy and provides i75 weapons for people that want better weapon before they take on Titan HM for yet another relic quest.

Not everyone are capable of clearing the Extremes, and among those not everyone can afford to pay their way through...

While it will be easier to gear up to 90 from 2.2, most people are still going to go through gradual gear upgrades until they have one job/class equipped well enough that they can use that to farm gear for the other jobs they level.

No I think you will be able to loot on everything in coil with no restriction, dont need to wait a week. With no cap of myth, there doesnt need to be any lockout on coil 1-5 either. They are helping everyone catch up with any i90 they don't have yet, because i100+ is coming to be the new thing to work for.

Well at least it's only 3 more weeks of suffering, there's also going to be new myth crafting mats so everyone would just stockpile myth beforehand and crash the markets even faster than they already are the instant 2.2 hits, if people aren't already saving their myth for that.
