I like to take my time too, and the FFXIII event was one of the main reasons things that made me level up as well XD

I did just accept an invite to a pretty large free company with a mixed group of players, but I certainly wouldn't expect you guys to break up your own FC at all. Linkshell sounds like a great idea for now though
