Looking for likeminded players to dungeon run with - stress free, slow and easy

Tired of the impatient, intolerant and rude players that you pick up in the duty finder? Want to quit the duty finder for good, but finding it hard to get a group together on the party finder (particularly for end game)?

This is where I am, and I'm looking for like minded players to form a Free-company with. My ideal situation is:
    1. Log on in an evening and play a dungeon at a slow to steady pace, without arguments, criticism (advice is ok) or drama. (That mean's no duty finder runs for me, but filling numbers with party finder is ok).
    2. For each player to understand and appreciate the time every party member is sharing with them, despite their experience and skill level.
    3. To have a supportive group that will, where necessary or helpful, offer advice in a supportive way, and be tolerant when a party member is slow to pick up the mechanics / tactics.
    4. Instead of blaming failure on the inexperience of others party members, for the more experienced players to try to improve their own skill to compensate for other players weaknesses or the play style they are more comfortable with.
    5. If the above isn't possible, or you don't feel comfortable changing your own play style, then players should respectfully work together on the strategy, offering suggestions and discussing, but not dishing out orders (i.e. "Could you try switching to cleric stance and to help us burn down the demon wall quicker? I don't think we need heals too desperately at the start.")
    6. Since it's not possible to take advantage of the duty roulette bonus if you want to avoid speed runs and rudeness, we'll naturally have to run the lvl50 dungeons a LOT of times to progress and naturally the group will end up doing quick repeat runs after time. This grind is necessary for the reward of progress, but I want to always prioritize the experience of newer players in the group over my own progress. I want to play with other players who feel the same.
    7. If we need to fill in numbers for a run, I would rather use the party finder setting the criteria as slow and easy, newcomer's welcome etc, to ensure we don't get a player with conflicting interests. I have zero interest in running a dungeon with impatient or intolerant players just to collect tomes. While I do want to eventually progress to coil of bahamut if possible, there's a lot to play before reaching that and I want to enjoy all of it while I'm there.
    8. Ideally I would quit the duty finder altogether and never have to deal with being pressured to play better or faster for someone. In reality, sometimes we just won't be able to get a group formed and will probably resort to using the duty finder anyway, but the whole point of the Free Company would be to bring together as many people as possible who value a stress free, respectful run with a patient group, so the duty finder isn't needed at all.

I don't know if there are other players who feel the same? I spent three hours waiting for a slow and easy Pharos Sirius group in the party finder with only one person interested - but I'm hoping like-minded players are out there. Perhaps you've tried the party finder like me without success, and don't bother checking there now as it's mostly used by serious high level play groups. Perhaps you hate the attitudes of players in the duty finder, but put up with it for lack of an alternative? If so, I hope you'll join me and see if we can play the way we want to play, instead of how everyone else wants to.

I already have another friend who plays at lvl50, he's gone back to another game for now due to the speedrun popularity / bad atmosphere in FFXIV end game, and two other friends who are leveling up more slowly. If you're low level too but share the same interests I describe above, I'd be more than happy to do some low level dungeons with you, so please say hi.

    EDIT - we have a linkshell now - Forgotten Path - http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...2598695837771/

Please contact one of us in game or here if interested in joining No need to leave your current Free company.

    Hello Velo_Vandore,

Unfortunately Seire is quite misled about our FC, Phoenix Riders. While our members often run dungeons to reach the Myth cap, as an FC we only organize endgame raids.
For this reason, I suggest to disregard his advice.

I understand your frustration tho - indeed there are a lot of rude and angry people in this game (as in any MMOs), as well on these forums. Finding decent players to party with is very problematic.

If you ever develop an interest in raiding / get the chance to play regularly, feel free to contact us for more info.

    Thanks and enjoy the game!

Thanks for your time and response Remilia.

So please, if anyone shares the interests outlined in the top post, please get in touch as I'm still looking for people to group up with.

Hello! I'm definitely on your line of thinking (as is my friend whom I usually play with). We're not quite ready to join a larger FC at the moment (we have a small "personal" one for our chars), as we're both new to MMOs in general, but you definitely sound like the type of player we'd love to play with. Perhaps a LS dedicated to this idea, to bring in more players who already have FCs they're content in?

We're not at end game yet, as we like to take our time and enjoy the content, though our main characters got speed-leveled to 45 for the FFXIII event. Story-wise, we're just past Titan NM with those mains.^^; We find it fun to learn from others and teach others the times we actually know something that's helpful. So we do a lot of low-level dungeons (no roulette bonuses, sadly, or commendations to great players we meet, as we go in as a two-man team) both because we're comfortable with those fights and in order to help out others who need to run them for story purposes.

Feel free to poke any of us =D We'll try to look for you online too ^_^

    Main characters:
    Valerius Aldaine (mine)
    Cielle Beauvoix (my friend's)

Hi Noxifer! Thanks for your post. I'll try to catch you in game soon.

I like to take my time too, and the FFXIII event was one of the main reasons things that made me level up as well XD

I did just accept an invite to a pretty large free company with a mixed group of players, but I certainly wouldn't expect you guys to break up your own FC at all. Linkshell sounds like a great idea for now though

Thanks for a great evening Valerius (Noxifer), Cielle and Ellie.

We ran Tam-tara Deepcroft and Copperbel Mines to get to know each other, have fun and level some alt classes. Was really refreshing to be able to stop and chat / joke around throughout the dungeon and not worry about anything. Plus we kicked butt which is always a bonus ^_^ I hope things can stay carefree and fun, even when we're taking on the harder stuff and start failing :P Looking forward to next time!

If anyone else is looking to slow down the pace, whether a new player on your first dungeon run, a casual player reluctantly entering end-game, or an ilvl90 unsure of when the fun stopped, please give me a shout here or grab me in game!

Hi. I totally agree with your views on the game and player base. Would very much like to be involved in this. Am currently lower level (17)have done the first dungeon and suffered a bit of player rage. So I'm a bit more hesitant about future raids.

As background. I have played other MMO in the past so have a general understanding of overall game mechanics. But am playing as a tank this time and have never played this role before, so can feel a bit out of my depth at times. So welcome advice and feedback. I feel like it should be a learning supportive atmosphere. Not some of the blame storming that happens.

Look me up in game if you want. Very sporadic playtime at this stage. But hoping to keep my leveling consistent

Thanks for posting AprilNz! I'll keep an eye out for you in game. Sporadic playtime is no issue - we'll just have a good time when everyone happens to be on.
