Ul'dah, to me, is the most ergonomically designed and positioned city.

    In between Limsa and Gridania.
When you teleport in, you're next to the Wards, the Adventurer's Guild, a vendor, a retainer, the repair NPC, and the exit of the city.

Unlike Gridania leves, you usually have an open space to get from the Camp to the leve in a straight line, rather than remember the correct paths in the maze. Where Limsa leves usually had extended running distances.

My concern, initially, is that this patch will shake things up for a while, and eventually once we find less value in guild marks, gravitate toward Ul'dah again due to convenience. Conjurers, archers, and lancers will be destroying their leves. Limsa Lominsians will be in need of other adventurers not swinging around an axe. And Ul'dahns will be swinging around their subligars in sexy sin at the Miner's Guild waiting to get [removed by Moderator: highly inappropriate]

But I guess I'm lookin' forward to the shuffle for a bit.

the leves in ul dah arent really that good overall, its just that they had some really good ones, in a place people already hang out in. But if leve failing doesnt become worth it, then you wont always roll the cream of the crop leves, trust me, there are some pretty good leves in grid and limsa, definately on par with anything but dunesfolk.

    I approve this OP.

I am glad they are moving the GuildMark Leves to the corresponding cities. I have wanted this since the first time I logged in. I just hope they improve and expand the lists of what can be "bought" with GuildMarks.

*Off-Topic: Can someone explain to me why and when as an Archer I would want to "...trade my DEX for PIE..."?
: " or "...trade my STR for MND...?
    etc.

It forces you into the other classes, to get the correct stats conversions.

Ok, just as I thought...Useless to me as an Archer since I don't want to be a Conjurer and also useless after Physical Lvl is gone because we (presumably) will allocate stats for each individual Class from now on (after patch(es)).

p.s. Sorry for sidetrack but kinda applies to jobs/classes in the near future (in my addled mind anyway).

If you're an Archer, you probably put most of your stats into Dex and such.

So if you wanted to play another class and it didn't use Dex, you can use that trait to trade 10 Dex for 10 of a different stat.

Or you can use it to give yourself even more of a stat than you would normally be able to get.

Also, if you put 10 into Dex when it's only at 16, then equip the trait, you are saving more stat points than just putting those 10 points into Piety when it's at 70 or 100.

Definitely this. In addition to the other reasons mentioned here, this is the main reason I spend most of my time in Ul'dah. The design of the other two cities makes absolutely no sense. They both have long and completely empty stretches of land between the actual city, and the actual exit. I mean come on, that long a** bridge in Limsa, really? WHY??? Not to mention navigating them is more of a hassle than navigating the rest of the game. Ul'dah for the most part makes sense design wise. There really isn't even a question as to why no one goes to the other two.
