Why would anyone need encouragement to play the game the way they already enjoy playing it?
If you already enjoy adventuring in the game, WHY do you need encouragement to go enjoy adventuring in the game?
Let me ask you something. Why don't you restrict yourself to teleporting only at Aetherytes and increase your own enjoyment and leave it at that? Why do you insist on wasting thousands of other people's time so you can have a small increase to your own level of enjoyment?
i posted this on a diff teleport thread but...is the same answer
the average human being spends a time of 75DAYS on the toilet taking a dump in his life time...... i don't want to spend double that running around in this game when i don't need to be. Content is king ...ty.
hopefully while your doing it you get killed for being lazy.Just because the second post pointed out the irrelevance of your "idea" doesn't mean the concept doesn't restrict player mobility.
Scenario A: I can spend points to teleport to Aetherytes from anywhere in the game.
Scenario B: I can spend points to teleport to Aetherytes ONLY from another Aetheryte. That means if I wanted to get out of the middle of nowhere, I can't do it. I have to first run (on foot because again, there is NO OTHER WAY TO MOVE) to an Aetheryte before I can teleport to another Aetheryte.
Do you understand the concept of a restriction?

Two thread for Anima Restriction, waiting for that Dev To Answer :P.. anytime now![]()
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
Posted this in the other thread, reposting here too. Somethign seriously needs to be doneTeleporting freely, ruins/breaks/f***s this game for all players. Some aren't even aware of it.
1. The world feels empty because you rarely see players running across the landscape. They're not encouraged to unless they have no anima or get bored because they've been teleporting too much.
Edit: That's why players despise running now because they're used to teleporting there freely. Which is why I suggested making us atleast run to aetherytes, so that the idea of running doesn't seem so time wasting/boring/long
2. It makes the game able to be rushed and the game doesn't feel large scale anymore.
3. It will make chocobos and airships worthless.
The majority of all players will still teleport. Your in denial if you don't think so.
4. All areas looses its potential "Goddamn it took me a long and hard time to get here, but it sure was worth it!" feeling.
Imagine freely teleporting to FFXI's Norg, FF7's Round Island or FF8's Battleship Island?
Totally sucks the enigma from those places when you can see them whenever you want without any kinda effort.
Point...click....your there...ooooh Norg.
If it stays people will have a false sense of achievement of the game. Making it very boring to most adventurers, real fast.
Don't remove it, just severely limit this game hindering system.
It's not just about me bro, this cheap system messes up the game and i'm trying to give my 2cents about it. read my last post.Let me ask you something. Why don't you restrict yourself to teleporting only at Aetherytes and increase your own enjoyment and leave it at that? Why do you insist on wasting thousands of other people's time so you can have a small increase to your own level of enjoyment?
Edit: I want to be able to enjoy this game with a crapload other people. The less thrilling this game is the less people there will be, meaning a smaller chance of me being able to do just that.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, just pointing something out. People complain that they don't like Guild Leves because they're repetitive and boring, some people even asking for them to be removed but they still do them. So, players who have limited game time to play should be restricted to using the majority of their limited gametime for traveling instead of actually playing the game because other players choose to play the game a way they don't want to even though they currently have the option to play the game the way they want to?
People complain about spending all of their time in Thanalan repeating the same leves, but still they won't venture out to Gridania or Limsa Lominsa for a change of scenery.
It comes down to people only wanting to do what is the most efficient way of levelling, whether they enjoy it or not. Then they want the game to be adapted so that the most efficient way of levelling is exactly how they want it to be even if that means placing more restrictions on other players or removing content enjoyed by others.
Players choosing to do something they do not enjoy in the game when they already have an alternative option they WOULD enjoy but choose to NOT use the alternative option is not a valid reason to make sure the majority of my limited game time is used for traveling instead of playing the game.
