I exposed your solution of new zones.
My solution is so that the new zones, once everyone has seen them once, won't be skipped over by making it mandatory to travel to aetherytes. Like everyone is doing now.

exactly, we shouldnt be gimping peoples options because a MINORITY of people dont like anima. There is none because it's just a feeling, a preference, an opinion. There is no proof that it ruins anything. I've been in the field and see lots of gatherers and people farming, rank, leve questing, and side questing.
Perhaps SE should continue to redevelop the game and make it more tempting for returning or new players and see how that works. There is no good reason to make any constrictions no matter how small in order to force people to run into each other.
If you don't have the population, this idea wouldn't even work anyway. Which makes it even more pointless.
as for more people moving around without anima, there'd still be less because of people quitting the game because they want to get to thier destination and be engaged in battle or turning in locals, not spend 90% of thier limited time using slower transport methods.
New zones isn't a definitive solution. The definitive solution for the upcoming week will be to balance anima with the introduction of new transportation. Redesigning the zones will absolutely fix this if they are going to do it in the way they said they will. By making two-three separate themes in each region and condensing them and cutting out the extra unused areas.
Eventually, when we're able to use mini air ship ports that are placed around the land we may not even need anima. So, yeah, with the way things are right now, it's a pointless suggestion. Unneeded hoop jumping for something that is planned on being fixed down the line.
My friends and I have also talked about this idea. I'm all for it.

Can we just have more quests and missions that encourage the exploration of the land.
lol.
I was thinking along the same lines.
i guess SE's moderators didnt appreciate my comment of "stfu" then
Curiously, a lot of posters who create threads on what could make a game better and attempt to validate them, aren't being brought down using the premises of it being just their own personal opinions.
It sad that's the case here. It's not fair actually, and it shouldn't be applied simply because there aren't any strong valid arguments other than, it is "wasting my time".
When it is the same time & effort each one of us is putting in when we have to travel to guilds. The exact same time and effort when we travel to those same set logging & mining spots.
I'm not alone in being able to see past the 2-3 minutes, the identical time spent traveling elsewhere, and see the positive it will bring to Eorzea as a whole.
Can you deny that you won't see more players chocoboing/running across landscapes, as a result of this?
That alone brings liveliness to the world, and if it already is there as some have said. It will increase who-knows-fold.
Who does not want that?
Again, thank you everyone for your valuable input in favor (and not) of this proposed system. In the current light of things, undoubtedly I believe I've managed to position my image as that of a selfish individual, when I'm just sharing my personal opinion for concepts leading to a more vigorous and involving game.
