Reika and others, I like your idea and hope you don't mind me adding them to the beginning for clarification.

If they want us to run, they would have done things to encourage it. It could have been something just as simple as running across NPCs along the roads, offering a variety of quests and/or challenges. With some sort of worthwhile rewards to further encourage players to stop and offer their assistance.
no thanks, time sinks running instead of real game play is a joke. go outside and take a walk instead i'm sure we all can use the exersize. but either way they need to make it more easier to get around not harder. also if there is a way for a rmt, or a player paying for more subs to get around it, then it needs to be changed. it is not fair that others can get around there machanics just by throwing money at it. make it so we can all get the same gameplay not some get the easy route.
also though, in light of running around they should make it so no one can port to a crystal till they touch it by walking the first time, just like in ffxi. it gave it more of an adventure rather then paying gils or having a friend do it, or again having u'r other accounts do it.
the only reason anima is abundant for me right now is cause there is absolutely nothing to go out there and do, it's craft, dol or leves and leves are shared anima with the group so my anima is acually going up. only time it goes down are on days i use to get all my quests and rank ups done. in reality it was never enough at start, any real player like in ffxi teleported all day long, i know i ported enough times in a week to use 100anima without even trying in ffxi. it will be the same in this game when they finally fill the game with stuff to do.
so, less walking ...more content...you gave the game great graphics but so what the flowers outside smell better and they get me laid when i give them to someone. ty.
Just another dumb feature that needs to be completely reworked.
"Oh let's just let them teleport to areas they've never visited practically for free, just as soon as they're done spending 30 minutes hunting down their items in the wards".

I have nothing against teleportation most new games has this feature so I don't see anything wrong with it.
Only part that I didn't like is that you didn't have to really work your butt off to get the teleport locations as long as one person in your party had it you can port there and get it right away... That part I think it should be made so at least the adventurer/player have to walk his/her butt there, really earn it. I know some players don't have any ninja skills running through mobs but if you can't get there yourself or with your party/friends, you shouldn't be there at all lol. At least that's my point of view, what's the fun in it when you can just go anywhere without even trying to enjoy the world (Although you see the same view over and over and over and over and over and.... damn copy and paste maps!!)
The system will need some sort of revamp once mounts come into play or the point of mounts and airships will litteraly be moot.
Personally I think either a massive restriction on the max ammount of anima or the regeneration rate needs to be looked at when the mounts and alternative transport is released. Teleporting everywhere is extremly boring, I myself walk most places.
I know right? It takes so much away from the game, and it doesn't have to be like that.
Everyone I am aware of the disagreements but I think most of them are from the way the game was introduced to us.
Could you all say you'd feel the same way about anima/teleportation under a different first impression? To me it seems as if this is a method we've grown into, and any type of change just wouldn't feel right.
If it was as I had stated upon entry, I believe a lot of the boredom that exists now wouldn't be as great, and that this game would have a different feel to it.
It's pleasing to hearing everyone's opinions about the subject at hand.
I really believe if you change this aspect you change plenty, for good, in Eorzea.

Just hope the Devs are actually paying attention to this thread. I've been hoping for a revamp/abolition of the Anima system for a while, and AFTER Chocobos and airships come into play, I see absolutely no point in them. But if the players must have it, at least restrict it.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.

You already do have to reach the nodes before you can teleport to them. It's the camps that you can be taken to if you've never been and those are all easy to get to.
Anyway it seems people want chocobos and airships but they don't want to lose anima. As long as anima exists I will never use a chocobo or airship because I have never ran out of anima. Even before I had two mules to teleport me around my anima had never dropped below 50.

Bingo.
That's what my fear is. The Development Team will spend weeks and weeks making Airship and Chocobo transportation systems for us because we asked for them ... and then no one will use them because the Anima System is still the fastest most efficient system.
