Tractor... fun times.

This makes no sense, even in XI, as long as someone had a WHM you could teleport anywhere in the world where there was a crystal, not go to the crystal every time in order to teleport. Besides, our only mode of transportation right now is teleports, this game is hurting as it is, no need to make it worse.

FFXI =/= FFVIX.This makes no sense, even in XI, as long as someone had a WHM you could teleport anywhere in the world where there was a crystal, not go to the crystal every time in order to teleport. In FFXI it was a WHM spell that was casted and teleported you to the crystal IF you acquired the crystal 1st. In FFXIV it's a network of crystal flow. It doesn't make sense to be able to teleport from anywhere if you are not near a node since you kinda "enter" the flow to go somewhere.

Yes I understand this game is not XI. My point is this game has no other mode of getting around...how about we wait for taking away teleporting until their are other ways I.E. Chocobos, Airships, something! Then maybe we revisit removing Anima teleportation? Just a thought, people seem to be getting ahead of themselves with stuff like this. One thing at a time! :PFFXI =/= FFVIX.

yeah that's for sure. The OP does say when there are other means of transportation. Right now it's the only thing we got, altho I still think one should acquire the "node" before being able to teleport or be teleported there.Yes I understand this game is not XI. I'd like to believe the origin of this system came from that point.
but this traveling concept that supposedly compensates for the lack thereof is ruining the game, albeit in small ways.
It adds up.
IMO, an abundance of conveniences isn't a plus in this game. If it was only Crystal to Crystal it would have been accepted; Without hindering the game and or deriving too much personal time.
I'm all up for modifying it to node 2 node (at the minimum!) before any new players come, and especially before we get our maps redesigned.
This games attempts at accommodating for the players is making it look weak.
XP remains the best teacher

Yeah not me. I don't play as many hours as many people play on here. I play 2...maybe 3 nights a week for min of 1 hour and a max of 3 hours...that is less than 10 hours a week. For someone like me, I really do require the mode of transport that is now, I never hit 0 Anima. It wouldn't be fair to a player like me to log on and not have aetheryte to aetheryte transport so I can quickly grab my leves and head to crystals quickly so I can play and enjoy. So the current system works in a players benefit such as mine, someone who really can't devote the time to play that many can.I'd like to believe the origin of this system came from that point.

Uhhh don't you have to have already visted the aetheryte before being able to tele there?

To teleport yourself yes. But you can have people teleport you to any aetheryte THEY have visited even if you haven't. Once there you can touch the aetheryte and now you can teleport there yourself too. This is what mostly kills the adventure and exploring of Eorzea. They can leave the "teleport" from wherever you are, but this needs to change. Some people will probably burst out saying I can walk there first if I want and let them do w/e they want but seriously that's just a spoiled kid answer.
This is a game, things shouldn't be handed for free just because, some things should be acquired in order to reap the benefits. After you got the node, teleport from wherever you are for all I care.
(I use "you" but it's not directed to you personally, just saying it in a general way)

Yes I understand the english language well and it's "general you". :P
Also, I didn't know that people could exploit the system that way. I would have to say that is a bit of a cheat. I always thought you had to go to the crystals first before you could tele. I didn't know that someone else could have the crystal and you could catch a ride on.
