    Maybe they could make a greatsword wielding tanking class that has some migration skills ( like they did with WAR ) but his other skills focus on party wide buffs that boosts the party morale.
    Somewhat like a Bard but in form of a tank. I'm sure people would like the build in support utility.

    I've been trying to get into tanking, but with the low damage output leveling one is so... freaking.. slow.

    Agreed. A 3rd tanking class may engine players who do not like pld and war.

    All a third tank would do is give people who currently play tanks more variety. Duty Roulette is a good step, reason I leveled a tank at least. That extra 750 Gil per run adds up over the week, certainly more reason for me to play a tank than a mount.

    Honestly I'd much rather have Paladin fixed before adding a 3rd Tank Job, something akin to what it was in 1.23...right now it's merely a Knight from FFT without the weapon/armor/etc break. At least Warrior has more to do than pressing 123, it's more engaging rotating enmity combo, keeping Maim buff up and storm's path/eye on the mob while also timing an Inner Beast for a hard hit or simply Steel Cyclone for hate/damage. When players see Paladin they think of a knight in shining armor with healing abilities, subpar healing abilities but nevertheless healing abilities (Cure in this game is beyond subpar) and 1.23 Paladin was that. 2.0 is not.

    As for adding a 3rd "unique" Tank into the game that already has a Defensive (Paladin) and HP (Warrior) sponges, what could be added into the shallow battle/stat system that we have. People speak of Evasion tanks ala Ninja from FFXI but Evasion isn't a stat in FFXIV 2.0. For it to 'tank' it would need to evade but if it's able to evade attacks that do 50% (for example) of a Warrior's HP then that becomes broken. Then if it's not guaranteed to evade, it would be hit for massive amounts of damage and be "useless." It just won't work in the current system and is either too broken or too useless. Right now all a Tank can do is have damage mitigation (traits/parry/shield block) and or Vit (HP) to absorb hits. So when looking for a a new Tank it's one or the other (even though it's a bit of both).

    Only and Best solution is Light Parties 5 people with 3 DPS. Full Parties 10 people with 6 DPS.

    Personally, I loved tanking on ninja in XI (Different game, I know, but that's not the point), it was a fun job that I enjoyed. Tanking in 14 is just plain boring imo and it lacks creativity. I mean, when my school work in the background tab starts to look more appealing than the actual battle, something is terribly wrong. FFXI tanking system allowed more freedom and versatility. Bst could even tank in XI; It was creative and enjoyable, ditto for ninja. I am uncertain if ninja was designed to be a tanking class in XI, but rather, player creativity lead to nin tanks (Same with bst perhaps). SE placed too much emphasis on roles imo, no room for creativity which makes gameplay appear monotonous from my personal experience. I dislike war, but others may love it. However, my war and pld friends constantly tell me how boring tanking is in 14 compared to other MMOs, notably XI.
