8 people is a full party - NOT a raid.

Binding Coil of Bahamut, Praetorium, etc. - these are NOT raids.

Crystal Tower is the only raid in the game atm.

Most of the content in this game requires a half party.

You are wrong. Check your party finder again. You will see Coil is under Raids. So an 8 men party can be a Raid.

In the mmo world Coil is not a raid, FFXIV just calls it that for whatever reason but it's not a real raid. CT is a raid.
