You don't need an overmelded i70 ring gear to play your class in end-game dungeons that drop i90 gear.

You want to have the BiS, because that's a personal goal of yours to have. But it's not 100% necessary.

And end-game raiding? I've been part of progression guilds in WoW. It's all the same. If you honestly believe you need to have as much HP as possible to clear a dungeon, you are too serious. Encounter design that is focused on learning a boss pattern. With or without overmelded VIT gear you will end up dying the same until everyone learns the boss strategy.
