Screen goes black with buzzing audio

It seems to be just FFXIV:ARR that is doing this to my PC and it is at random times. Sometimes it is a few minutes in or sometimes it is immediate.

I am just running around questing or doing fates or whatever and then all of a sudden the screen goes black and there is a buzzing sound and either I am forced to reboot the PC or it does it itself.

Sometimes I get this message when windows tries to boot up it says: "An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system."

I do have 2 hard drives hooked up to my motherboard, but so far (knock on wood) when I play Battlefield 4 or other games this issue does not occur, just FFX14.

Is anyone else experiencing this? And if so, what can I do to get this to stop?

sounds as though something the game is calling on is failing , and that this something is not being used by any of your other tittles

i strongly urge you to run DXDIAG

paste this into "run" in windows task manager C:\Windows\System32\dxdiag.exe
copy your log and post it here and in a ticket to sqenix support at this url

some system specifics (hardware specs, windows version, graphics driver version, etc.) might help--some may have similar setups that can give advice.

At first glance, I would suspect any combination of power supply, cooling, or ram/bus timing isn't up to snuff. This game has a shoddy DirectX implementation, so it is hammering CPU, GPU, and RAM pretty hard--those other games may be using your hardware much more efficiently and not putting as much stress on everything at once. Only takes one of those main components to flinch and this game crashes.

If you've overclocked anything (even if you have an OC edition graphics card that came overclocked out of the box), try notching back the speed a bit to see if it behaves better. That's one thing that has worked for some. If it works, then cooling or power supply is likely not sufficient.
