It isn't as well curated as when they had screenshot contests for FFXI, http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/gallery/theme/
Even the FFXI weekly screenshot picks seems more curated than the screenshot contest here.

It seems like any sort of contest that has a inconsistency between the quality of chosen the winners, will receive complaints.
Maybe if the judges left some sort of comment on why they've picked it, people might not get as bitter over the choices?...

-sigh- I'm not sure why you're so hell bent on trying to one up me. That does indeed prove that you could get hearts within the bed/in a room. But while it may correct me on that, it does not change my stance on the questionable picks.

That would be a great idea that I certainly can support 100% I would love to know why some that were picked were picked. Again to reinstate I like many of the winners but there are a couple that just leave one wondering why. The above poster stated that some where picked probably by the reps while others chosen at random.

I didn't win either and while my picture wasn't the best it was certainly better than some of the winners. I swear I think they pick a handful of sure fire winners and the rest are selected at random. It's also possible that since my forum 'main character' wasn't the right character at the time winners were selected that might have messed things up.

If that's the case then I don't understand how friends post pictures of friends but the rules say you must be within the pic.. If you were disregarded then why are some others perfectly fine?

Hey I haven't won like 6 contests, but it's okay ~ you win some lose some. Pretty sure it's just a luck of the draw sort of thing.

I felt like a lot of the winners were questionable. I don't think people should win when their characters are so far zoomed out that you can't even see their expressions or anything. But hey, I'm not one of the people judging these screenshots for the contest, so not much I can do about it.

Every time we have a contest like this, there will be people unhappy with the results or wondering why others were picked instead. Dust off your jeans and try again next time!

(Also, your screenshot doesn't look shopped to me. Maybe the judges don't like girlkas...! ;P)

You accused someone of cheating based entirely on your own ignorance. You asked people to take the time to browse through the winners. This isn't one upping you, this is simply providing irrefutable proof against the only direct accusation you've bothered to make.

If you want to continue complaining then stop skirting the issue and start posting the other winners you have an issue with so people can pick those apart as well.

The fact of the matter stands though that you have provided ZERO proof so far that a single winning entry got through by cheating or that your loss was anything other than poor luck.

I don't like the idea of posting ones I find questionable, and whom did I accuse other than when I said I didn't think it was possible to do that. When you corrected it I took back that statement in saying I was wrong. Posting ones I find odd feels like name dropping which is why I haven't done that, rather than linking the winners for others to give feedback themselves.

If you can tell me why that's perfectly fine, and shows great effort went in. Then I'll refrain from continuing. And once again a reminder, I do not want the people chosen to lose their rewards I just want to discuss if there are ways with which to make this better, NOT FOR ME but for everyone entering. Same goes for the video contest and whatever they decide later. okay?

Those are the rules right there, but if you take the time to browse through the lists of those chosen, it would appear that SE is not following their own rules.

For all she knows, people may have just not paid attention to the rules (this happens with every contest in the history of ever), but I don't see her accusing anyone of cheating. I don't think this was intended to be a witch hunt.

I doubt she's the only one who feels this way either after that entry with the 5fps haukke manor cutscenes for the FC video contest. And yes, I know they were the only submission for that server blahblah. I'm sure a lot of people are still wary about entering the contests after that.

So now you've gone from "SE isn't following their own rules!" to nitpicking which entries you personally don't believe should have won based on quality?

You started this thread based on the belief that SE had broken its own rules by selecting a winner you believed was photoshopped. I proved the exact opposite, that the heart effect in that picture was not only possible in FC housing but that it was the only place in the entire game outside the main cities where that picture could have been taken.

Given a second chance to go through the entries and provide an example of another instance SE broke their own rules all you've been able to do is reduce your argument from "SE didn't follow their own rules" to "I don't like this picture". ONE HUNDRED winners and you started this thread based on a single entry that has already been confirmed as perfectly fine without a single other example to back yourself up.

Grow up.

:| That's a quote from you previous post. You asked me to post a picture, and you're responding with this? This isn't the picture I thought was photoshopped, this is a picture I find questionable. How is that following the theme exactly? Why can't I question it without you getting so angry? I asked you a legit question, it's not an I don't like this picture I'm asking you how that picture follows the theme?

I'm not entirely sure why I have to "grow up" if I'm just asking for ways with which the contests can be handled better at the heart of my OP, but considering since I irk you so much (based off how you respond) and that you did provide me with an answer. I will keep to my statement and refrain from posting in this topic.
