Rules for Entry

The screenshot must be taken by the user submitting.
Please do not submit images of only NPCs or backgrounds.
Make sure you character is visible in the screenshot.
You may use image editing software to crop your screenshots.
You may not use image editing software to alter, enhance or add more features to your screenshot.

Those are the rules right there, but if you take the time to browse through the lists of those chosen, it would appear that SE is not following their own rules. There are questionable pictures with people who aren't fully visible, and posting pictures of characters but they themselves aren't included within the picture and a few not following the theme. So I'd like to know how exactly these things are judged for one and do you the community think it's fair? Is there a better way to handle these contests? One of the entries had a photoshopped heart in it and it won.. I mean come on?

I myself did not win, but that may or may not be because my picture was considered shopped when it wasn't.

Now I'm not asking to be given any kinda compensation. They were picked and I can live with that, I just want to know if anyone thinks this could be better handled.

I'm gonna go ahead and bump this. I think people need to be aware of this when entering, I know it's easy to be a skeptic but please, take the time and look through the winners I am really not making this up. If they can't handle something as small as this than that is alarming..

Tabbing thru those winners is a pain in the ass... I don't think some of those should have won at all... They were simply horrible with no creativity... I seen a winner was just someone in the outfit laying in bed... But maybe they should let the forum people vote or the server people vote for fairness

One of these days SE is going to announce contest results and we won't have an "I obviously should have won, here's why I think SE cheated me..." thread.

This isn't as bad as the FC video contest with the "Why didn't I win by default?" guy... but still...

You need to look again, there is a photo where the heart image is clearly laid where it shouldn't be. That "floating heart" shouldn't be placed in an FC house. I know you wish I was going that route but I'm not. Secondly there are people posting characters without themselves in it and winning how is that fair? And finally I said I don't want compensation, I'm not even looking for it! I just want people to be aware.

I didn't win either and while my picture wasn't the best it was certainly better than some of the winners. I swear I think they pick a handful of sure fire winners and the rest are selected at random. It's also possible that since my forum 'main character' wasn't the right character at the time winners were selected that might have messed things up.

Hey I haven't won like 6 contests, but it's okay ~ you win some lose some. Pretty sure it's just a luck of the draw sort of thing.
